Hi everyone,
Wanting advice on sizing and location for an outdoor shower. I’m wanting one just outside of our main bedroom, so when we get out of the pool we can have a shower and then go inside. I’m wanting a proper hot/cold shower, enclosed so it’s a proper shower and not just somewhere to rinse off after a dip in the pool.
I’m going to get two quotes from the builder: one for just a hot/cold tap on a spot on the wall so we can do something ourselves later on; and one for an actual showerhead and mixer out there so all we would have to do ourselves is build some kind of wall/enclosure.
My problem is there is not much space – we have 12.63m between the wall and the boundary, but have to fit an 8.2m pool in there. The pool will have to be 1.5m from the boundary, plus we will have 3 rows of 400mm tiling. I think that it’s only the pool that has to be 1`.5m from the boundary and not the tiling, so I’m assuming that we will still have 2.13m to spare (12.63-8.2(pool)-.8(tiling)-1.5(min from boundary=2.13).
I’m trying to see if it will be feasible to have a reasonably sized shower there. Any opinions on what the minimum shower size and the gap for entry should be?
I’ve shown a copy of our plan below. The other issue is that there is a window from bedroom two facing where I would prefer there be a gap for the shower (so you could go straight back inside from the shower).

This is what I’m thinking in regards to where we would enclose (not to scale). I don’t think it will work out in real life though, due to measurements – I don’t think we could get that gap big enough. I’ve put what I think our second option would be (behind the house)

Can anyone help with any other ways they think I could get around this? Other options I can think of are having it behind the house. More space, less convenience as it won’t be as close to the bedroom door but that might be ok…
Any ideas? Even ideas on what you think the minimum size would be is good!
This is what I’m thinking to enclose it: (open to suggestions here too)
