Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 30, 2012 11:07 am Hi all, we are currently obtaining quotes from builders to build in Taylors Hill, West of Melbourne. Was wondering if anyone is building there? We only have one quote at the moment from Henley and the fixed site cost they quoted was $15,810. Anyone else received any quotes from other builders? Thanks. Re: Taylors Hill (Fremantle Place)- Site Costs 3Oct 02, 2012 9:25 am hello My partner and I are building at The Point! we are with Henley (Lexington Lux q1) they have been pretty good with us so far, honest information and very flexible with appointments. the only thing is they do mark up a bit, so we are doing a lot of the work ourselves after hand over (flooring, lighting, etc) fixed site costs for us were $14,500, plus $2000 for optical fibre internet and $4000 for bushfire zone protection - which i believe was a rip off. Our friends went with porterdavis and paid just the fixed site costs and got all 3 things included! we might try and get them down on the price.. Re: Taylors Hill (Fremantle Place)- Site Costs 5Oct 02, 2012 10:05 am was that for the point? or for encore/aspire? the guy at encore and aspire would call me every day even after i told him i had already purchased land! plus he was so overpriced! we got a good deal at the point but he did fail to mention a few things before we signed the contracts.. (the fact that it was bushfire zone and optical fibre internet) it has since cost us an extra $6000 to accomodate for it, which threw our budget out a little (we had to take off some extras from the house) Re: Taylors Hill (Fremantle Place)- Site Costs 7Oct 02, 2012 10:37 am im not sure either.. they were all pretty frustrating to be honest, but with the price they offered we could not say no considering we knew others paying same price as us for land that was 125m2 smaller than ours & smaller frontage.. mind you they were further towards melton Where did you end up building? Re: Taylors Hill (Fremantle Place)- Site Costs 8Oct 02, 2012 5:10 pm Land sales didn't mention bushfire zone when we purchased our land. Probably immoral - but not illegal practice. Fortunately, we are a couple of blocks out of the bushfire zone. NBN connection cost is another thing we need to consider. Just looked at our quote again and NBN provisions is included. Worth trying to get it included. Re: Taylors Hill (Fremantle Place)- Site Costs 10Oct 03, 2012 8:09 am In your house or in your land cost? We purchased both seperate and AFTER we signed our land contract he said oh by the way tell your builder you need optical fibre and brushfire zone covering. Little did we know that would set us back $6000. I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13082 Is anyone building with Mojo and have a recent site cost tender 0 15951 Henley should give you some indication of site costs.
