Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 25, 2012 7:13 pm Hi All, Just wondering if any one has or is building with WA Housing Centre in WA? They are part of BGC residential. We are having a few issues in regards to time frames and experiencing MAJOR delays. Please some one give some good feedback about them for my fiance's sake. and my sanity's sake. Or atleast just be honest please. Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 2Sep 25, 2012 9:00 pm Not really sure about WA Housing Centre, but we're building with Commodore Homes, who are apart of BGC Residential also and lets just say, we have been ready from day dot to try and get our build going ASAP and pretty much our house is on track to be one of the last house's to be built from our land developers stage release. Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 3Sep 25, 2012 9:28 pm Well that's good to hear in a way but not good in another. Sorry to hear about your delays. Where abouts are you building? We are building in Banksia Grove. Have you been voicing your concerns to any one?I know we have. Was expecting a call from the general manager of BGC Residential today after an email from him yesterday and nothing yet. What stage are you up to? Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 4Sep 27, 2012 4:42 pm Well on a happier note, we finally received our final plans late yesterday and also at the same time received shire approval. Hope you start to see similar results some time soon too. Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 5Oct 17, 2012 7:26 pm Well, I have more shocking news in regards to BGC Residential. Had received all approvals that we required, from what we were told any way. Until I enquired as to where we would go next in regards to scheduling. Only to find out that we were still waiting on approval from the developer as there was some delays on their side. So instead of doing nothing I called the developer (Banksia Grove) to find out what the delays were, only to be informed that they had not yet received our plans to approve. It then took me to send the plans to the developer and within an hour I had them approved. We have been waiting since April when our titles were issued and are starting to get really annoyed. Would like to hear from any one else having similar issues. Yet another reason NOT to build with WA Housing Centre or any other part of BGC Residential. Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 6Oct 17, 2012 7:33 pm I built with C homes last year and everything went smoothly. I'm building with them again but waiting on land titles so not a lot they can do at this point. I know the whole contract department as well as C homes themself have had complete revamp and have been told there may be delays. Not sure if this is for all BGC
I'm glad the revamp has happened before we properly get started Hoping to have another great experience. Fingers crossed! Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 7Oct 17, 2012 7:39 pm Good Luck Leanne. I really do hope you have a better time than us. We have had 3 CA's and nothing but dramas. We were so happy with the sales guy Ryan but since then it has all been a negative experience. Hopefully for you it all goes smoothly. Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 8Oct 17, 2012 8:34 pm Can you speak with the manager? My sales rep has left so my point contact is the manager now so fingers crossed that means things go well. I had a CA who seems to be ok so far. Once I have titles then I guess ill find out how well they work Last year we signed up end July 2010, titles end Sept 2010, prestart early nov 2010. Slab mid Jan 2011 I found the build much quicker than paperwork side of things. We had handover 1st June 2011 so wasn't even 5 months Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 9Nov 05, 2013 2:38 am Deposit for block Oct.12, titled May 13, unconditional finance approval Feb. 13, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting & waiting, pre-start booked Dec. 13. and still don't know when can I get the final plan & the council approval. Never will go back to any companies of BGC, will not recommend it to anyone, stay away from it, big delay on the Admin. part. Re: Any one building with WA Housing Centre, BGC Residential 10Mar 26, 2014 8:49 pm Similar to Marge. Will never recommend them. Waste of my time. I am seriously grr. Settlement on block in July 13. Had signed up in Jan13. Prestart in October and still no slab and it is almost April14. 9 months after land settlement. Stuff up after stuff up. ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done!
