Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 30, 2008 10:10 pm We have Prehandover Inspection tomorrow .not long now, hopefully if all things go well ,we will have our house the week after.
Interestingly last week i happened to run into PD quality inspector at the house. He has a torch with him and goes around with that to inspect and note down any issues. I Saw many orange and yellow stickers around the house , but i had to point out issues he didnt even pick up himself I dont know what anyone else thinks on here but i think it would be ideal to be able to be present at every quality inspection stage of the house . Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: we have prehandover inspection tomorrow 4Mar 31, 2008 2:14 pm I'm only a week or so from practical completion.
To be honest, I don't think my builders know what a quality inspection is. There are so many glaring errors. I would hope these errors will be fixed prior to walkthrough, otherwise they will look completely incompentent. I have such little faith in the 'quality assurance' that I'm having to fork out several hundred dollars to have an independent inspector attend walkthrough with me - if for no other reason but to support me when I go through the list of what I consider defects, as well as have them pick up other things i'm not aware of. Re: we have prehandover inspection tomorrow 7Apr 01, 2008 5:43 pm Hey there
we had our pre inspection today !!! we have been at lock up since 2 weeks before Xmas, so i have been more than ready for this day... My new house is just around the corner from the kids school, so i drive past everyday maybe twice, and when i would see someone in there I would get out & do a check & get on straight to my supervisor if i saw any problems, this has helped as today there were 2 minor minor items which he fixed already - so i am meeting him tomorrow then when final payment goes through - the house is all ours!!! How long have you been building for? We signed up at the end of Nov 2006, pad went down beginning of June 2007, i think this has been an incredibly slow process, something I don't think I can do again!! Hope your pre inspection ran smoothly!!! Re: we have prehandover inspection tomorrow 8Apr 02, 2008 10:51 pm Hi House wow it has been slow for you Our construction started November 20th.
Thanks everyone .Well preinspection went well alot of yellow stickers around the house mainly paint defects, i took a male friend with me and he and the ss had a minor arguement over a basin, i upgraded to square basins that sit on top of the vanity bench in the bathrooms well we found you could hardly fit your hands under the spout or let alone turn the tap handle without your hands hitting the side of the basin .. so a person with big hands may find it difficult. so ss is going to change the spout to a goose neck, i think i made a mistake getting those basins as they are small, . Has anyone else had these basins? and had these same issues? My other issue is the roof tiles when the sun shines on them they appear faded looks as if they havent been glazed properly some tiles have been replaced but there are alot more there with the same defect.. boral have been out once and there going to come again... hopefully this issue will be rectifed before handover next week. i would suggest nothing is unreasonable for PCI. we did all sorts, including checking the hot water, checking all the GPO's had power, testing that the showers were… 9 98679 you need to understand the breakdown of warranties. 90 warranty is considered as minor defects rectification period where as the longer ones are more major/structural… 1 5339 Hi, I have this sewer inspection point sitting in an odd spot in the rear of my yard: https://imgur.com/ghLI98q What I'd like to do is put a firepit in that corner of… 0 6522 |
