But they've fixed it....I think 22Apr 02, 2008 7:02 pm The site supervisor called me - I had been hoping to speak to someone a little higher up. He was a little narky, in his attitude I think, because I had complained and kept telling me not to stress, it's nothing to worry about - we'll fix it all, the quality will be there - but I could hear the irritation in his voice. It will all be 'repaired' on site and they had actually started today - I haven't had time to look today, but hopefully will tomorrow.
I don't know if I'm 100% satisifed with this - he really put me off when he said 'I can tell you've not built a house before'. Well, we HAVE actually Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: They broke our frame!!! But they've fixed it....I think 24Apr 03, 2008 8:47 pm I checked this afternoon and most of the ground floor frame has been put up - as far as I can see the 'wonky' bits of wood have been put aside and I could not see all the brokern pieces anywhere - not sure what they've done with them.
We will have a GOOD look on Saturday - a couple of the windows are broken, but that's no big deal. I do have one other query though and I'm hoping somebody here can help me before I shoot off another email They've put the front door frame in - our house design has quite a large full length glass side panel in the doorway. The house comes standard with clear glass but we upgraded to 'Waterfall' glass , which has a mottled type of effect. So I was surprised to see a plain glass panel in there today - is that how the frame comes out of the factory with the plain glass already in it, and they'll swap it over to the upgraded glass later on? Any ideas on this? Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: They broke our frame!!! But they've fixed it....I think 25Apr 03, 2008 11:29 pm I'm pretty sure this is standard practice when you order "special" glass particularly on the ground floor where it can be vandalised easily. I'd imagine they will be replacing the glass at or just before handover, easy reglazing job.
Similar to our timber door which was put on just before handover, they had a "builder's door" whilst the house was being built to avoid damage to the more expensive door. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: They broke our frame!!! I would be shooting that email off. That sounds like an oversight and one tat os easily fixed now and a little harder later once it is in. Things like this are the ones to keep on top of IMO... Re: They broke our frame!!! But they've fixed it....I think 28Apr 04, 2008 6:48 pm *sigh* Now they're really going to have me pegged as a troublemaker
Can you believe it, when I 'spoke' to the sales rep at the adjacent display homes last weekend, he told me it was best not to visit the site too often and just trust them to get it right - he was serious! Fortunately, we live only 10 minutes away............... Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: They broke our frame!!! But they've fixed it....I think 29Apr 10, 2008 10:02 pm I hadn't visited our site since Monday, and seeing as it's rained pretty much the whole week, I was astonished to discover tonight that we now have a second storey! And 2 neighbours (well, their sites have been scraped)
It's a bit difficult checking things out now that daylight saving has finished, because by the time I got there after work, it was just about dark, but I managed, squishing around in the mud in my high heels! I was determined to see if they had fixed some of the other broken pieces of the frame yet....and, I don't think they have and I haven't heard back from our CSR re the front door issue yet either........oh well, we have had some positive progress! yay!
