Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Hartley 361- build 121Oct 17, 2012 8:03 pm Interested to know how you go with the camera door bell monitor thingy, as I am considering one too. Have you walked through your 'rooms' yet? https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Our Hartley 361- build 122Oct 17, 2012 8:52 pm We have had a good look at the rooms and am wrapped with the layout even more. Roofs nearly up ( frame). We looked at the camera doorbells today in store and online I have found them cheaper on line. Just make sure if ur not going wireless that the cable supplied is long enough as 15 Metres seems heaps but when we worked it out today from door to where i want to put the monitor it's pretty tight. There's colour and black and white ones and ones that pick up night vision, also ones that open gates lol.. I can't write the brands on here but some seem better then others. The more I researched them the more I think it's a great idea. We have double wood doors and a long hall so it's going to be handy to be able to see who's knocking before I answer the door and be able to tell them I will be there... Eventually to open it Re: Our Hartley 361- build 123Oct 19, 2012 8:06 pm Pic removed
We have some windows and doors two missing by the looks of things, but I'm sure they are on to it. Frame nearly there which is good. Looking forward to seeing what's next Re: Our Hartley 361- build 124Oct 19, 2012 9:35 pm Looks great so exciting to see it start, do your rooms feel big enough? I see you have the window in the back games room I was tempted to leave that in but now it is out it will become a desk in the elcove I created in bed 4. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 125Oct 19, 2012 9:55 pm Hi Mac, yeah we left it in as we have a lovely view from there, loving the alfresco area now that they have placed the roof in and the stacker doors. Love love love it can't wait until it gets to your stage.. So excited After seeing it today. They have locked the fence up now which is good as we are missing windows they also have a mock up front door. Our rooms feel fine pretty happy with the size at this stage. Also the games, alfresco, family and dining was shrunk a tiny bit to stay off the 3 metre easement at the fence line, and we can't tell. Now to call our SS to arrange extra battens for our pendants and electrician to add my chandalier to the ensuite. Not sure if we have hit our energy rating so fingers crossed it can be done.

Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ No good about the windows going missing, my mum lives in a new estate and their block is the last of the old bit, 2 houses are being built in there and they have seen people around the houses 2 times late at night, they called the police but took to long and they did loose there bath, second time they came quicker and caught them but they hadn't broken in, bit annoying. The same house that had the bath go missing had someone throw left of plaster mix all over the front windows, guessing that was kids. Glad we have neighbours as I was worried it would happen to us, especially now we have delivered our bath and it is still just sitting there in clear view now the plumbers moved it! I have a key to our sliding doors and have found the garage door the trades use is often unlocked, the tiler even forgot to screw the laundry door shut when they left, I rang SS and told him as tiles had only been laid and I couldn't shut. With your pendants, if you have them they may not require extra noggins, I found out my 3 over my island bench attach straight to the plaster with clips like down lights do. We now have to cut the noggins out! They were good for my round white pendant and outdoor fan, if you have the lights see how they attach! Have you not got your energy rating? we got ours with our contract I think, was well before they started. Wont matter what you put in after handover as no one will check, our electrician didn't say anything and neither has DF but we paid electrician to do extras as DF don't want to get involved from what I can gather. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 127Oct 21, 2012 2:16 pm Hay Mac, we are the last block in the street surrounded by houses, you would assume someone would of seen something! Maybe they just didn't get delivered..Dunno, going to speak to the SS tomorrow We got our energy rating have not had a good look at it might have to dig it out, I do remember that it was cutting it close. surely adding one more light shouldn't be a problem, I'm not a fan of just having wall lights in the ensuite I went over this with my sales rep who clearly forgot to amnend the plan after tellin her twice, I forgot to double check until all variations were done. Never mind hopefully it won't be a problem. Really want the chandalier over in the ensuite when you paid the electrician did he invoice you or cash on site?? Re: Our Hartley 361- build 128Oct 22, 2012 9:07 pm We got an invoice paid half a week later waiting on bill for rest but haven't seen it yet! I am not a fan of wall lights I told electrician to make them roof lights and the extra we're credits for other lights etc we had 2 wall lights in our ensuite and it would have to be 4-5m long! We now have 2 downlight so hopefully they put out enough light, I also wanted a chandelier over my bath but wasn't allowed... Re: Our Hartley 361- build 129Oct 23, 2012 6:25 am Wasn't allowed?? Partner or electrician? I'm a little worried having it over water but im sure they will put it in right lol.. Well I hope so.. If all else fails that clipsal switch better kick in seems to be the going thing these wall lights!! Did u add any in the back hall? We have the playroom in the middle of the two bed rooms and there is really only one light down one end.. Meant to see the electrician about that as well in the up coming weeks. There still at frame stage, taking longer then I thought to complete, that's just me probably being a little impatient and it being a much bigger house then the last two we built is to be expected. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 130Oct 23, 2012 6:39 am How lovely does a pendant light over a bath look? I know from a blog I read that she wanted a pendant over her bath too but the electrician wouldn't do it either. But then I remember Dan and Dani on The Block had one over their bath. They must have different rules in America as every bathroom on Houzz seems to have a hanging light over a bath. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 131Oct 23, 2012 4:55 pm They do look nice and they always seem to have them in the brochures for lighting places.. If they can't put it over the bath I will be happy with it in the middle of the bathroom. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 132Oct 24, 2012 7:22 am Re- Pendant light over the bath. I think you guys might have saw it on our thread or my blog. I had bought a pendant for over our bath - the electrician would not install it as i does not follow Aust quidelines (or rules). Over a bath you can have a downlight or ceiling mounted light fixture only. Once I actually placed it over the space I wanted it installed I could see how dangerous it would have been with my 2 little monkeys in the bath. They do look stunning though.. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 133Oct 24, 2012 8:07 am So mad at the moment... SS called to tell me that the build is delayed cos some senseless fools have knocked off our custom made beams they are huge so has to be someone close....what neighbourhood have we gotten ourselves into.. If I wasn't a children's book author I'd loose the plot on here.. but need to remain composed and calm right now... They are putting sensor cameras up... GOOD!! Grrrr Re: Our Hartley 361- build 134Oct 24, 2012 9:08 am Unbelievable what some people stoop to. I was just reading another thread that they too nearly had some wood from their frames stolen too. Hope it doesn't delay you too much but I guess being custom you can't just go out and pick more up. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 135Oct 24, 2012 10:06 am Yeah I know! The SS said he has ordered some more, it's just so frustrating, I thought maybe the windows that were missing we're just because they may of not ordered them but they took them as well.. I don't want to have to rent any longer then we have to . Just can't believe how awful some people can be.. They probably think oh big builder no one will care, but they just don't realize that it effects everyone else as well..(more rent with delays) We are just a young honorest working family with little kids just trying to build a better life for our children..I've never stolen a thing in my life... Drives me nuts. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 136Oct 24, 2012 10:27 am THE RISE Re- Pendant light over the bath. I think you guys might have saw it on our thread or my blog. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 137Oct 24, 2012 1:19 pm Oh now stealing like that just gets my back up.... who do they think they are to take the supplies needed to build your home! So they stole the beam and some of the windows? How long did your SS say you would be delayed by? Hey, your having the mocha bricks also arent you? I saw you posted on the other thread that yours are coming next week, our mocha bricks got delievered last week.. for what reason I am unsure as the timber for the frame isnt there.. but getting to the point they look soooo good! So happy with the choice seeing them again after so long. Super happy with them Anyways sorry to hear about the delays and hoping they can everything back again for you soon!! Re: Our Hartley 361- progress pics :) 138Oct 24, 2012 1:35 pm Hi jpc Yeah they stole two windows the wir one and the family room one and some roof beams which are rather huge so they are thinking someone local which upsets me even more.. Thats great that the bricks have came and you can see what they look like its hard to tell on that little sample. We picked the same mocha Did you take a pic? They said the house will be delayed until probably next week. Not as bad as I thought, just spoke to him again before. Actually one of the things I'm looking forward to seeing is the bricks. They do Things differently by the sounds of things I guess it's what they can order and get in first. Hopefully your frame Is not far away. To think, we nearly bought the block next to yours We ended up buying elsewhere, have to wait for the site to be completed but gives us more time to get everything organised. AND we are also building a modified Harley 361 (very modified) Waiting on the preliminary drawings. Hope things start picking up for you!! Will be watching your build with interest. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 140Oct 27, 2012 6:43 am Police are on to it lots of drive bys, cameras going up and neighbours aware. There's lots of houses and DFH going up in the Geelong area, we have noticed.
Good luck scud with your build, the block next door would not fit the Hartley anyway, we struggled to get it on this one, we shrunk it a little to fit, we liked it but were not sure about the fence set up. Wrapped we found a nice flat block in the end, great position, lots of space, can't wait. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17955 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23902 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 24019 |
