Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Hartley 361- build 261Mar 07, 2013 11:14 am Hey ODH, I spoke to the SS about smoking in the house before our plaster went in. We were there having a meeting when the roof tilers were there and they were having a smoke in the garage and I said to him 'There wont be any smoking once the plaster is on the walls will there' to which he told me there had better not be and he is very against it. I don't think it is over the top to let him know they are smoking and request he tell them to stop. It is your house and cigarette smoke stinks!! What very inconsiderate tradies! Have you had much progress over the last week, we seem to have come to a screaching halt.. so disapointed! Was flying along and was all excited to go last weekend and by the looks of it all that was done was the benchtops went in... not a drop of paint as we were promised.. 2 and a half weeks ago was told 6-8 weeks from handover. I highly doubt we are now 3.5-5.5 weeks away.. more like still 6-8. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 262Mar 07, 2013 11:42 am Thanks Mac yeah we are about three weeks off according to our SS today. He said that none of them smoke and it must of been a pencil he was holding... Call me silly but i don't know many pencils with smoke tips never mind... Just wanna get in already lol.. Got the chandalier off e by yesterday so hoping they can put it in shortly. Are you happy with your build now that you are in? Is the Hartley practical now that you have had a chance to live in it ? Re: Our Hartley 361- build 263Mar 14, 2013 9:19 am Looks like we are going to hit Easter and still not be in getting a little frustrated. Not much going on this past week. And they have chipped the tiles in the ensuite putting the tap in.. Hoping it will be fixed next week. The CO is getting processed according to SS Iam not sure how , we still don't have some kitchen cabinets as they were the wrong size and cladding and front door not even painted!! No splashback either. Maybe next week might be a busy one for the builders. I e noticed they do that one week it's busy the next week not so much? Re: Our Hartley 361- build 264Mar 14, 2013 9:42 am I've found the same where it seems nothing is happening then there are six tradies all at once Yesterday we had a house clean, very little to do now, handover should be next week. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Our Hartley 361- build 265Mar 14, 2013 12:08 pm That's very exciting have you had an inspection yet? Re: Our Hartley 361- build 266Mar 14, 2013 2:14 pm Hey ODH, We were just told this morning we are 3 weeks away from getting our CO and 2 weeks after that we will have handover... ummm ok I say. The painters havent even finished and then all the tiling and flooring has to go in and then all the little bits and peices to do So I too do not understand how they can get the CO so soon. I am trying to think positively (as hard as it is) that ok we MAY be moving in in 5 weeks. The contracted building time is up in 6 weeks so I suppose they should be working to these time frames... Easter is still 2 weeks away so if they really pull up their socks it could possibly happen for you... you seem so close now! On another note, the skylight in our main bathroom isnt there... seeing its the same house does your plan have the skylight and is that in yet? Re: Our Hartley 361- build 267Mar 14, 2013 3:58 pm Easter is in between I had to remind him when he told me a few weeks off .. Christmas was bad enough they were off for ages.. I had a feeling it wouldn't be until after Easter hope in wrong but no sign of it being done before then. . Yes the skylight is defiantly part of the build. It only went in very recently also. He told me he was heading up your way this morning then back to mine. I asked him about being in before Easter, he said he didn't think so which is frustrating that would of been a good time to move over the break. I also was told 4 weeks that was over 5 weeks ago. It's seems like its stuff that really could be done in a day that is taking forever. I have no idea why they painted one corner of the front wooden cladding at the front and have not yet done the rest including the door it looks like an eye sore from the street lol.. The plumbers hve to be back and the splashback has to be put in really not a lot so I'm not sure what the hold up is??? In saying that still happy with them just wish we had a date or at least see it clean there is plaster dust everywhere and the boards look bad ATM. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 268Mar 15, 2013 9:04 am ODH, I'm expecting handover next week and STILL haven't got a date! JPC, you will be surprised at how quickly things come together at the last minute, a lot doesn't get done til the day of handover due to theft) for example our electrician is coming back to finish downlights, put in the oven, add the fan to alfresco; the plumber will put in HWS and gas cooktop and dishwasher; cant think what else but lots happen on the last day/week. We are being held up due to the theft of our air con copper pipes, they are now fixed but the walls have to be patched up, outside rendered and painted, inside patched, flushed and repainted. SS reluctant to give a definate date in case there is a hold up with the tradies but I would be surprised (read frustrated) if it's not ready by next Friday. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Our Hartley 361- build 270Mar 15, 2013 11:53 am I believe it's Bonaire I could be wrong can't seem to find the contract ATM, started to pack But I'm hoping inspections next week so will confirm then..Sorry I probably should already know that. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 271Mar 15, 2013 12:16 pm Yip it is Bonaire but just wanting to know what their standard controller is. Has it been installed yet? With the model Evap cooling they install there are different controller options. Just trying to figure out what the base one is as they can't tell me. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 272Mar 15, 2013 12:42 pm Oh sorry no our control panel is not in as of yet hopefully very soon, I will take a pic and pm you when I have inspection Re: Our Hartley 361- build 273Mar 21, 2013 10:23 am Looks like driveway is going in .... finally! Kitchen cabinets are up just waiting for the splashback surely, we can't be to far off an inspection. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 274Mar 22, 2013 4:21 pm FINALLY
Certificate of occupancy is getting prepared including handover kit!! YAY! The driveway is in just waiting on the splashback! I have no idea how they could pass it without the back tap complete and the splashback??? Now just waiting for our inspection on Tuesday then from my understanding they have 3 weeks to fix any errors. We do have Easter which is a shame it all falls around then but so happy we are nearly there. The cleaners went through today from the windows it looks amazing I can not wait to move in Re: Our Hartley 361- build 276Mar 25, 2013 6:43 pm Yay for the Certificate of Occupancy! Strange I agree that it is without the splashback and a tap but oh well, they will get that in. So is your inspection tomorrow? Good luck with it, hopefully there are no real issues and handover can be arranged quicker. We are apparently a few weeks from our CO so hopefully we will have handover by the end of April (fingers crossed) The front of your house looks great! Is your garage door monument, ours is too and I am really liking it with the bricks.. ours went on last week. Let us know how you go with your inspecton Re: Our Hartley 361- build 279Mar 26, 2013 10:03 pm Thank you all so much you would all know how exciting it is being in the same boat my family although happy for me doesn't really get it lol.. It's such a long wait so I was so happy today. Hey jpc splashback went in finally today SS did it, cleaner was in and wow what a difference, Handover after Easter woo hoo gave notice to rental agency today booked in removalists and now Easter weekend we pack.. The garage door is monument. When you have your inspection take a pen and paper SS had a roll of blue tape to put on minor scratches. There were a few things that needed to be fixed and still no back tap or gas metre.. I'm assuming that goes in before final check. I sent off a large list of minor defects and work not complete today so I wouldn't forget, but the quality looks fantastic from the laymen eye anyway lol. Here's a pic of the splashback so much different then I remembered it as the colour selection was done so long ago but I love it. It's a bad pic but it shimmers has a beautiful sparkly look and will go nice I think with the glass over the range hood when it's installed. Above the bench will be my 3 light pendant .I like how they put in those plastic shades though. We have only finally finalised the 2nd contract after they made a complete mess of the first one. Can't wait to see more pics!!! Tell me about it our contract was all over the place, no freestanding bath as requested, carpet layed twice in the same areas, house had to be shrunk as it wouldn't fit.. That process took longer then I hoped, but once we started it was amazing to see. Once your past the paperwork hopefully it will just zoom by, still no thermostat in the house will take a pick on handover for you Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17517 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23758 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23835 |
