Nice colours inside and out Awww thank you, we can't wait to move in. It's been some serious hard work to get it to this stage and a fair bit of stress. Hubby said to me last night that the day we get those keys will be a great day Re: Our Hartley 361- build 244Feb 25, 2013 4:19 pm Hi everyone, The tiles have taken longer then I expected there is a little older gentleman working on them and he is doing a great job just wish it was like one of those home renovation shows where everything seems to be done in so fast... (the magic of television and 20 tradies working at once ) Getting down about the whole thing just want it to finish, the struggle of renting and paying for this never ending build its darn draining and depressing... And there is still a lot they need to do its frustrating.. Anyway my venting is complete... HoPe your builds are moving Nicely Re: Our Hartley 361- build 245Feb 26, 2013 7:01 pm our tiles took a long time too, in fact the tiler was back again today after being away for a while, to render under the porch tiles and doors. I know what you mean about just wanting it finished, ours is so close I can smell it! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Our Hartley 361- build 246Feb 26, 2013 7:43 pm Today I was really wrapped to see all the sinks and freestanding bath in, floor boards are next, toilets are in.. Finally feels like things are nearly there Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Didn't get any pics of the laundry but the Tiles are still going in there, hopefully they will be finished tomorrow . Re: Our Hartley 361- build 247Feb 26, 2013 8:14 pm Wow... looking good!! I love the square sinks. And the black bath looks lovely!!! We felt the way you feel with your tiler with our brick layer... he just took forever and ever to do it all... did a good job though. Have they at least given you an estimate to handover? Re: Our Hartley 361- build 248Feb 26, 2013 11:22 pm Hey jpc, how is your build coming along? They have not given us a date as of yet but SS said about 4 weeks and that was a fortnight ago. There is still a lot to do so I'm thinking another month. I've been giving him a call once a fortnight for a progress report, seems as though he is avoiding my call this week lol... Floorboards are ready to go I'm really looking forward to seeing them in and can't wait for the splashback either wish we had a set date so I can start booking removalists and sort everything out hope your builds coming along for you. What do u think? I was looking at a chandalier to go over the bath or near it not sure if a black one would be to bold??? Re: Our Hartley 361- build 251Feb 28, 2013 9:21 am I think you should just go for the chandalier... I remember you mentioning this ages ago... if it is sticking with you it is something you want and in front of the window you will be able to pick up some beautiful light off it during the day Tiles are looking good! Must feel great to see all the progress. We were told start of last week we are 6-8 weeks from handover, somehow I dont see it happening. The kitchen and bathroom cabinetry is in and all the skirting boards cornices etc are in. The painting I believe was due to start this week so thats good with tiling to start after that. We try to limit our visits to once per week so havent been since last weekend, hoping to see some more progress this weekend! Currently trying to sort out blinds at the moment.. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 252Feb 28, 2013 3:49 pm Colour Spotted manhattan full of plaster dust at the moment so not a great pic but So Happy they are in. Hey jpc thanks for the advice I think you are right the light will look good over the bath if I can get it done great to hear cabinets are all in. We have to get ours fixed they are a little high ATM so SS and I discussed the options today he will get back to me soon. 8 weeks off sounds about where we were at at your stage, so hopefully he is right. SS said about 2-4 for us and finally the gas point got put in today so that means driveway can be layed soon.. I better start packing Re: Our Hartley 361- build 253Mar 01, 2013 7:47 am ohhhh your floor boards look beautiful ... very very nice (even with a little plaster dust ) 2-4 weeks until handover thats fantastic, surely with all the flooring in there wouldn't be much else left anyways... We received out fixing invoice end of last week, can't believe we only have one more payment left. Cannot wait until we get close enough to start packing... thats when the excitement will start for me I think Re: Our Hartley 361- build 254Mar 01, 2013 8:40 am Yeah I'm child free today so might give packing a go just waiting for that magic letter I'm assuming should come with a completion date?? Sounds silly but then things will feel more real. It's such a long drawn out process isn't it! Now that we are so close I don't know what to do with myself I guess packing is a good start... We need so much furniture as well curtains, antenna fence... Eeeeek.. Can not wait think I am going to cry the day we get those keys Re: Our Hartley 361- build 255Mar 01, 2013 3:57 pm Carpet in yay!! Wish I could go in with a vacuum and clean it up Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅
Re: Our Hartley 361- build 256Mar 01, 2013 4:08 pm Oh yay, for carpet, look at you go with all your progress. Everyday it seems something is happening for you. I am itching to go to our place tomorrow to see whats happened this week. Did the SS get you to have a meeting onsite to look at your tiles? Apparently we are so I keep hanging for that call to arrange a time. Might get hubby to call him next week.Is it tiles after painting? Our fences are thankfully almost sorted, had THE biggest drama with them, its just blinds to sort out, what an expense they are! P.s your wall colour is nice, whats it called? Hi jpc, no call From the tiler we just went In and met him when he happened to be working. He was really friendly the . At one point he had an issue so He gave me a call and I was able to meet up and let him know what I wanted. I don't think there was a call scheduled we were just lucky he was on site at the time The wall Colour is called "imagine" with "whitewash" skirting I'm really happy with it. Tiles were done after painting for us and the flooring as well. We still have not sorted fences And curtains there is just so Much we need but can't afford until we can stop this dredded renting .. Looking forward to just buying even a new couch and dining suite soon. They are re Doing part of my kitchen as they made a mistake the cabinets are so high up. They are making them bigger and lower at no cost which is great. Once that's sorted we still Have driveway and all the bits and pieces to finish, like mirrors, door knobs range hood oven outside still needs a paint so who knows how much longer.. We did complain at one stage as we got the invoice and it just seemed as though they had not progressed enough, but they sure have made up for it now, pretty happy so far. Re: Our Hartley 361- build 258Mar 03, 2013 9:41 am nice carpet dream We still haven't picked one for our media room, not too worried as it can be done after we move in but it does give the room that lovely, warm, 'finished' feeling https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Our Hartley 361- build 259Mar 06, 2013 5:56 pm Does anyone think that the tradesmen smoking inside the house while working is a bit strange? Not against smokers but we are not smokers so outside would of been nicer as its a new home would hate to walk in and smell cigarettes on our inspection day. Bought a car like that once took me ages to get rid of the smell, and dads got lung cancer so hit home a little when I drove past left a message with the SS probably sounded petty to him?? Re: Our Hartley 361- build 260Mar 07, 2013 10:52 am Love the bath and your other bathroom looks very similar to mine, looks so nice, I am guessing you are nearly ready to get the keys! Bit exciting! I would have told them to smoke outside, that is just all kinds of wrong. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17602 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23777 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23896 |
