This is the most fustrating part just waiting for the start. Hope it happens soon Re: Stellabella's build QLD-Colour pics & definitely in coun 82Oct 16, 2012 9:20 am Thats great news Stella! Not long to go now. Re: Stellabella's build QLD-Colour pics & definitely in coun 83Oct 17, 2012 11:12 am Thanks everyone! Dress is now with the alterations lady, had a fitting this morning and it looks sooo much better already, even though all she's done is taken it in at the waist! Can't wait to wear it for real! Hoping to get some opinions on which walls to paint as our feature 'areas' (I say areas since I don't want just one wall in each room). I've put a photo below showing in pink the 'definites', and purple the 'maybes', I'm also open to suggestions if you think we need others too! Our main colour is Resene Double Alabaster (white) and our other colour is Resene Double Stack (deep, dark grey). Here is a link to it, also shows the white under complimentary colours: http://www.resene.co.nz/swatches/previe ... le%20Stack Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Look forward to hearing your thoughts! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's build QLD-Help with which walls to paint d 84Oct 17, 2012 11:21 am I would do where purple line is as the walls in living space would no longer become feature. Would just make whole area dark Re: Stellabella's build QLD-Colour pics & definitely in coun 85Oct 17, 2012 11:44 am stellabella Yes kiwi, all good for now, will be better when I know it fits properly, at the moment it's a size too small, better than too big I guess? ! Oh, so it was to small..or to big, and if the lady has taken it in..how big are you!!??? A size 12 " waist! Not standing next to you at a BBQ I don't know about colours, so not going to say, but will say we looked at alabaster for our ceilings and doors. But went with black white as it was less creamy and it was for ceilings and I wanted a deep white. ( resene colours) and Thorndon cream for all walls. ( like a latte colour) Alabaster will look great Have fun choosing. I chose wallpaper for the end of my hall wall..and that was hard enough!! Re: Stellabella's build QLD-Help with which walls to paint d 86Oct 17, 2012 12:10 pm Oh my goodness, I'm such a an idiot haha. It's too big, I ordered a size 12 but it's getting taken in. Duh haha! I'm not that small, I'm now the awkwardly skinny, tall girl from high school who got fat! lol I AM SO JELLY OF YOUR WALLPAPER. We (I?) did want this orignally but the quote from the builder (more exy I know) was $1500 for two walls! Plus this is not our forever home - e.g. a few years at most because it's already too small for my liking and it hasn't even started yet - so I was thinking of resale and that the pattern I wanted wouldn't appeal to everyone, so best just to stick with paint! Thankyou Leanne, that's what I'm thinking, I just don't want to scare everyone with dark walls everywhere...but the entry will still be white! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's build QLD-Help with which walls to paint d 87Oct 17, 2012 12:14 pm Yeah, hence only doing THE END wall of my hall. ( jelly wallpaper!) It's a grey, like your wall will be. But only 1.2 wide and cost $42 for a whole roll, of which I used 3 drops. But our home is a forever home so I hear ya. Oh skinny one ( a size 12 was to big, well... def not standing by you ) Where are you holding the wedding and reception ? Everything organised? Can't wait to see pics...please share with us. Or we will be sad.... Re: Stellabella's build QLD-Help with which walls to paint d 88Oct 17, 2012 12:30 pm Haha we can still stand next to each other, I'm oddly disproportioned, skinny legs, skinny arms, fat face and fat tummy...weird. I'm not an apple, a pear, a stick,etc... I'm a Curly-Wurly! Wedding and reception are both ath the same place, 'Gunabul Homestead' in my hometown. So boring and not what I planned, but quite literally the only place in town you can have ceremony and reception! Will post pics I'm sure. Can't post house pics so will have to be wedding! Everything is ready except for the seating plan...how is it possible to make these things work?! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's build QLD-Help with which walls to paint d 89Oct 17, 2012 1:36 pm pull the names out the hat and let fate decide. I have a friend who's got antique white and some kind of grey (similar to yours) as well as a dark purple for her feature walls, and it looks great! I think we'll stick with grey and accentuate with coloured accessories! So I got home...and our building approval had been posted! Yay! Now to get it all to the bank so we can get the first payment paid and get something started! I also was sitting at the table and decided to take the laptop into the bedroom; put the charger and antenna on top and went to pick it up and it started making a weird noise. Turns out the antenna has a massive magnet in the bottom and it's done something to the laptop which now won't turn on. Worst bit is it's H2B's laptop, not mine, as I borrowed his while he's away at work because the internet wouldn't work on mine! It's off to the computer doctor tomorrow so fingers crossed it will be salvaged... 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's 1st build QLD-We have council approval! 94Oct 18, 2012 4:36 pm No word om the lappy yet. And I haven't told H2B! Will wait and see what the verdict is! Also realised that we have to have a P class slab instead of the M we had quoted, poo. Same thing happened with Mum and Dad's and it was only about $500 extra so hoping ours is the same. Waiting to hear back from the builder, who hasn't replied to the email I sent yesterday about the outdoor shower pricing so who knows when I'll get a reply. 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Stellabella's 1st build QLD-We have council approval! 95Oct 18, 2012 6:10 pm Wow, only $500 extra to jump from M to P?? Nice to know I'm not the only one juggling wedding planning and building a house. It can be SO stressful. :O Your wedding is so close! Got everything organised? I have a lace dress as well. Need to get it altered though. And your house plans are lovely. Can't wait to see it start. Still haven't heard back with confirmation of pricing for anything. A little disappointing! So Lappy is going in for brain surgery tomorrow (new hard drive). He will also suffer full, permanent memory loss. Whoops! Can you say 'my bad'? Getting excited for the wedding now. Have my hair trial in the morning and my hen's night tomorrow night, yay! Boys still need their shirts, but we'll probably get them next week - the boys have been a bit challenging to get suits, etc organised as not only does H2B work away, so does one of the other boys, another lives in Mt Isa and another in Melbourne.
