He also sends photos to us when something major is done eg frame, brick, kitchen etc. I think we have spoken 6 times this week as we are almost finished:) Re: Contact with Site supervisor 11Sep 08, 2012 7:25 am I think its worth making the effort to get to know your Site Supervisor. If you don't contact them they will think you are not that interested and they might think they can get away with things. Even if I don't meet them on site I will make sure i ring them up and least weekly with a question. (even if I know the answer I will still ask something just so they know I am keeping an eye on things) The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Contact with Site supervisor 12Sep 08, 2012 12:41 pm I worked out on his rounds mine goes to ours on a friday morning around 10am. I just "happen" to be there around those times.... agreed, get to know him. So far ours has been fantastic. cannot fault him....yet Re: Contact with Site supervisor 13Sep 08, 2012 12:52 pm Our sight supervisor arranged a meeting onsite before site cut was due to commence, my husband went alone out to meet him and they went over a few things (mainly my concerns still about the kitchen) and the guy cutting the block also turned up to have a chat. He mentioned that he would be calling once a week, so far so good. Re: Contact with Site supervisor 14Jan 14, 2016 11:06 pm apologies for bumping an old thread, but it was the earliest thread I could find about communicating with the site supervisor, would be good to get some updated discussion. I have started a build and haven't had a proper chance to talk with the site supervisor yet. I visit the site every week after work, though everyone has gone home by then. my thoughts that if it looks to be progressing satisfactory, then there really isn't a need to speak with the site supervisor. but the previous posts made a good point about seeming interested in the build and just showing your face. Re: Contact with Site supervisor 15Jan 15, 2016 11:02 am Our first SS would email me every Friday giving us an update on what work was completed that week and what's to come next week. we had a change in SS about 2-3 months ago and the new SS doesn't email but give the occasional call. I would generally give him a buzz every 2nd week to see how things were progressing and he'll call me if there's any clarifications he requires or issues. Hasn't been too many luckily. Re: Contact with Site supervisor 16Jan 15, 2016 12:14 pm I met with mine yesterday for the first time (site has been pegged, that is all) and he said he will try and be on site every second day, and will phone us at least once a week to update us on progress and what is happening on site. He said generally that is enough contact but that we can call him any time in between if need be M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 Re: Contact with Site supervisor 17Jan 15, 2016 3:18 pm thydzik apologies for bumping an old thread, but it was the earliest thread I could find about communicating with the site supervisor, would be good to get some updated discussion. We met ours when we went in to sign our final construction drawings. While we were there he asked us not to go on site without him and any time we wanted on site all we had to do was call/email/text to arrange a time. This arrangement has worked really well for us and I think we have a really good working relationship with our SS. Any time I've had a question (what's next? Can we go of a walk through? Etc) I've sent him a text and he replies as soon as he is able. He's also called us a couple times with updates on the house. I think we've been involved without being pushy and intrusive and that's gone a long way in making him happy with us & willing to take the time with us when we want to go through. He also doesn't have to worry about us setting off the security alarms after hours We also have a CRC contact but she isn't quite as up with the exact things that are happening (the updates she's given me have all been about stuff that happened the week before), she has been super nice though and quick to reply to emails. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13107 |
