Will reply later to all the lovely comments left and update you all on the ups and downs that have been going on around here. Just wanted to post this quick pic taken by hubby whilst he was out at the house yesterday, I'm yet to see it in the flesh myself though. Not the best styled pic as it is complete with ladder but I thought you all might like to see. Re: Our Grandview 37 Toowoomba - Quick Kitchen Pendant Pic 463Apr 09, 2013 10:35 am Tash looks great. I think you should keep the ladder there.... perhaps you could add another two and use them as stools for the breakfast bar. lol just teasing BTW - your house has to be my favourite on home one! Re: Our Grandview 37 Toowoomba - Quick Kitchen Pendant Pic 473Apr 24, 2013 12:39 am Hi Tash, I love your kitchen. We have just started building in WA and have the same issue as you. Using a project home builder but going against that modern look and wanting a more traditional looking home. Our kitchen doors are also Polytec, but the cammeray profile, which is very similar to your internal bathroom door. We have also gone with a freestanding ilve, but chose a 900mm Matt black nostalgia. Like you, we have tried to convey the look of the kitchen we want without speaking directly to the cabinet maker. Our range hood is going to be completely concealed into cabinetry. The canopy sits out 100mm from the cupboards either side of it. I am nervous about how this is going to look as its not something they usually do. We have chosen the ice snow stone bench top and the white subway tiles. I love your pendant lights. Could you please let me know where you sourced those from? I can't wait to see the kitchen once the oven goes in! There is more info on my blog about how we finally got here. It has been a long time coming. I have just come from the house and I have to say barring the issue that I talk about on my blog I have to say the quality is really high, bit surprised but credit where credit is due. Be back later with more details or if not I'll post them on blog. Thanks everyone who has followed along on my thread, you have all been a wealth of information and made my house what it is today. Re: Our Grandview 37 Toowoomba - We have KEYS! 476May 10, 2013 9:16 pm Hi Tash, A big congratulations on finally getting keys. I hope the move goes smoothly. I have been watching closely and reading your blog and understand that you completely over your build at the moment. Honestly we have been going through something very similar with ours so don't think you are alone. Building a house is such a big project and I think it is natural for things to go wrong a points however I sometimes feel that the builders out there think they are doing us a huge favor by building our homes and that we should be absolutely indebted to them for doing us the great service. They completely forget that we are actually paying them good money to supply us with a home and in many cases it's not just 4 walls we are buying but our whole lifestyle so we get to be a bit pedantic about what we are getting. Just remember that at the end of that day you have a beautiful home and hopefully once the move is over and the issues are sorted you can get onto the important part or making great family memories in your new home. I wish you guys all the very best. Keep us supplied with pics, we look forward to the next installment of your adventure. Re: Our Grandview 37 Toowoomba - We have KEYS! 477May 10, 2013 9:51 pm Congratulations....finally!!! I've been following your build and really felt for you when you had so many issues. So pleased to hear you have the keys and you can finally get on with moving in and setting the house up. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! It should guarantee that they will come back and fix the problem...if you haven't, ask for it! I hope that once you're all moved in, it's everything you dreamed of xx 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Our Grandview 37 Toowoomba - We have KEYS! 479May 11, 2013 1:59 am Thanks Charnley, Onewheel and Stella. Building is not for the faint hearted I tell you. On my first viewing of the house since our first PCI walk through (M have about 3 of these) I was pleasantly happy with everything overall. Stella we do have a maintenance list and we are to write everything down as Larry the SS's boss told us there would be things we would pick up as we lived there day to day and also of course as the house settles. Anything urgent we are to call straight away. We are thinking of going into some of our local builders display homes now just to gauge how our house holds up in comparison. We have been madly moving stuff all day and I have already given the house it's first "blemish". Gave everyone else the lecture about not wrecking the house and I'm the one that starts it off. I actually can't wait until this house is just home with nicks and scratches. Now it's on to trying to find the funds to do a driveway, we have not idea yet what we are doing under the front porch or back outdoor room. I have been trying to sell off all our stuff as I would prefer to just start out with empty rooms and slowly work out what I want to do. I decorate slowly as I am very indecisive. Looking forward to Wednesday so that our missing kitchen doors can be done and we also need a skirting put under the dishwasher and a piece to go under our oven. Range hood is still a little way off, I think it goes to the painter on Monday maybe, then the kitchen will be officially finished. Here are some pics, I think most of them have been shown before though but it was nearly raining and dark so they are a little blurry. No pics of our entrance light yet as it is not installed and all of the bedrooms either as I was too indecisive at the time so it has been left to give me time.
