Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 06, 2012 10:27 am Ok so we are heading to the city in a couple of weeks to look through some display houses and hopefully get ideas for our upcoming build, only thing is we don't know where to go or any details at all! Can anyone please advise - the best areas to go to for open houses? (am hoping to not have to go from one end of the city to the other) - are they open all day/7 days a week? - is it worthwhile do you think? Anything else we should know? We only have 2 display homes in our town and both from the same builder and that's it so not a whole lot of ideas! Really appreciate any help, cheers! Re: Adelaide Display Home Questions from a Country Bumpkin! 2Sep 06, 2012 3:26 pm Hi, I would recommend starting up at Blakes Crossing, up main north road, there is two large centres twith a lot of builders. One is at Blakes Crossing the other Playford Alive which are both close by, this will be you almost 100 houses to go around. If you want more, progress south to Northgate (the land here is smaller so smaller houses on display for some of them), following that there is also about 15-20 houses at St Clair estate in Woodville. Most of the houses are open 12-5 Sat-Wed, some are only open the weekends, and some are only open for shorter periods of time. If you block out both weekend days you should be able to get through 3-4 villages. Finally, depending on where you actually live, do a bit of research, the builders may not build out that way at all, therefore you will want to focus on the ones that do. There are a good range of displays in that area between Elizabeth and Gawler. If you want to trek further, I'd suggest Lightsview and maybe St Clair. I am mainly just looking for colour ideas more than anything so 100 houses would be more than enough! I don't really mind where I have to travel as such but as long as there is a reasonable group in that one area i.e not travelling from one end of the city to the other just for 1 house. Thank you again, I really had no idea!
