After a couple of years hiatus I am back on the homeone forum

The story so far...
- My wife and I got married in Melbourne in December 2006.
- Early 2007 we signed up for a house and land package with Windsor Homes in Cranbourne in Melbourne
- We were denied LMI on that land as it was too close to power lines
- We ended up buying a different block of land in the Carlisle Park estate (also in Cranbourne), but decided not to build at the time
- This caused all sorts of issues with Windsor Homes (full story here: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=6540)
- We didn't build because we ended up going to live in Canada for 12 months in August 2008-August 2009 (a case of 'why not?!' but it meant our plans to build were on hold)
- A few weeks before leaving Canada we were notified by my work that we could not go back to Melbourne but instead had to be based in the head office in Brisbane, which again put the build on hold
- Fast forward to February 2012, we decided to settle in Brisbane so ended up selling the land in Cranbourne, this paid for a 7 week world holiday with enough spare for a deposit should we ever decided to buy/build.
Finally.... (

- As of a week ago we signed the contracts on a block of land in the River Breeze Estate in Griffin in Brisbane
- And decided to build with the developer (MyHomeNow) who has a very good turnkey package so we have just decided on a plan that we like.
This is all still subject to finance mind you but finally after 5 years it feels like we are finally going to have our own place
