Thanks for that It is sometimes frustrating not knowing what you are being quoted for, as M does not have a catalogue or even a list of products they supply (understandably they do change often and bit hard for M to keep up with their suppliers) for the quote, but you can keep asking them. Might visit the display homes and see what you like, take photo and ask about it. M says this works best, but I'm still not convinced, even now that I have past this point. M is not a one-stop-shop as they perceive to advertise. Once you get the estimate, then the bank will pre-approve your loan for that amount. Then when you get your contract and final tender, the bank will approve and loan you on that. So let's say your sale's quote was $412,500, you can ask the bank for $420k for pre approval. When you do all your selections, providing you do not go over the $420k, you are good to go. Most times because the sale's quote is over estimated, you final balance should be less (unless you go overboard with luxury items ). Hope this helps. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1886Mar 13, 2013 11:00 am Ricaaaa Because I'm lazy and don't want to go through 94 pages, who got there wooden floors through Accent and if so what colour did you select? If possible posting a photo would be wonderful I've selected the Forest Red but having doubts and would love to see what others have chosen I got mine through accent. We went with the Topdeck Strand Woven Bamboo flooring in Coffee colour Pics on my blog - http://ps-sirocco7.blogspot.com.au/2013 ... -done.html Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1887Mar 13, 2013 12:00 pm Looking great am also loving the huge window, so much natural light <3 <3 dsa39 coming along nicely PS_Sirocco7 ahhhh yes i knew someone on here got the coffee, i think I'm going to ask to swap over and copy you, floors look so lovely and seeing a whole room rather then just the little sample they have in store makes it easier to picture as well, thanks Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1888Mar 13, 2013 2:51 pm Very exciting to see all of your progress - especially dsa39 since we are building the same house. We have had more action on our property with plumbing and sewarage activity going on. We had to go out there today to talk through how they were going to connect our sewerage and while we were there, I took the opportunity to ask them to put a tap next to our alfresco (so I can wash away any spilled wine!) I asked for this when our plans were being prepared but Masterton said they would charge a $1,500 plan amendment fee and send me to the back of the queue in drafting - I declined then. The fellow said it would be easy to do and is now moving one of the existing taps to where I want it - for free - so definitely worth having the discussion. Of course, our bill for the slab arrived within 24 hours - now just trying to get the bank to pay it - which seems to be a very painful process - based on others' experience on here, I think it is common to have some administrative challenges with the first progress payment. Spoke to Masterton and they seem OK with it. The first progress payment is always a headache, but that does not stop M going forward. They are used to it. For us, after the first payment, it is smooth as emailing the bank a signed invoice from M, within few days, we see the amount added to our loan Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1890Mar 13, 2013 4:07 pm HouseofRock Of course, our bill for the slab arrived within 24 hours - now just trying to get the bank to pay it - which seems to be a very painful process - based on others' experience on here, I think it is common to have some administrative challenges with the first progress payment. Faxed it through to the bank on the Friday and after going through our filing on the weekend found some authorisation forms from the bank which we needed to send to them when we send the invoice from M (opps), called Monday and got that sorted and they paid the money the following day, considering all the dramas we have had with st george so far it was nice that we had no issues with our first progress payment, fingers crosses it continues like that. How soon after the slab is poured do they deliver the frames and then start work? Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1891Mar 13, 2013 4:08 pm Ricaaaa PS_Sirocco7 ahhhh yes i knew someone on here got the coffee, i think I'm going to ask to swap over and copy you, floors look so lovely and seeing a whole room rather then just the little sample they have in store makes it easier to picture as well, thanks You re most welcome and be assured that they look 100 times better in real life than in pics. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1892Mar 13, 2013 4:14 pm Ricaaaa HouseofRock How soon after the slab is poured do they deliver the frames and then start work? The slab needs to settle for up to 5-7 days, so within the following week or next. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1893Mar 13, 2013 7:35 pm Oh yeah they are super quick with all their billing!!!! That and their rain delay notices are the two things you can count on receiving on time when you are told to expect them Vatche your place is looking so stunning - you must be so excited seeing the rooms start to take shape! dsa39 wow you must be close now if they are doing the clean! Can't wait to see your final house once it is all done! We have also ordered our flooring through Accent 12" laminate in Rustic Olive. The light in the showroom for Accent and Dons here in Canberra wasn't the best so I don't have great colour shots of the flooring, carpeting or the tiles we picked - just hoping I still love them when they are installed..... August seems so long ago since we saw any of it! Also keeping my fingers crossed that they are still in stock - we have based our selections of furniture (given so much seems to have a 12-14 week delivery period) on the colours as we are expecting them to be. We are still waiting to hear about our frame inspection and if it has happened and how it went but the insulation (which was going to be in on Friday!) arrived today so hopefully it will be going in over the next couple of days. We have lost track of what needs doing but we believe the big ticket items are obviously the front stairs, stone island benchtop, appliances, floorboards & carpet, skirting has gone back in the living room where the floors been done. Hubby drove past and said they were forming up the front stairs and it looked like a painful job no one wanted to do LOL We cant wait either. Few things we have picked up, the top right hand cupboard next to the range hood has a chip on the inside and some mortar missing from bricks and some pretty seriously chipped bricks I mean like a whole corner missing on the verandah and near the laudry door and a couple of other bits but all in all really happy must expect a few things to be fixed but def nothing majoe theyve done a great job viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46741 Clovelly - Masterton Homes 5% to M 290312 CDC 21/06 20 days 29/08 Slab 17/09 Frame 26/09 Bricks 24/10 Roof tiles 20/11 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1898Mar 13, 2013 8:42 pm Ricaa - our frames are due tomorrow and our slab was poured last thursday - so for us, exactly one week is the plan. Merlot Hilton with Traditional Facade Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1900Mar 14, 2013 7:42 am For all who are at the framing stage, it normally takes 2-3 working days for single story, 3-4 working days to double story house to go up. Yes, you can pretty much see how big (or small) your house will end up. But wait till brick goes up...
