They will be back once the flooring is done, to finish off the skirting. I have not inspect it yet, but looks like they did a good job on the paint. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2363Apr 27, 2013 9:22 am Vatche Bricks should finish off by end of next week, then the trusses will go on and then sarking. Roof tiles most likely be delivered next week too like the sounds of that fingers crossed for sunny days until our roof is on :p any idea when your flooring will be completed...mid week?? Then painters finished up by the end of next week?? For us. next few weeks are I think electrical and toilets etc to be finished off, then I know the upstairs flooring is booked in for 16-17 May. No clue on the downstairs tiles. Hopefully PCI end of May. Keys, first week of June?? At least things are getting done.... We add a minimum of a week to each deadline our SS gives us and we have still been waiting on a lot of it! Does anyone know when M considers it has net the contract date? Is it after handover and you have your keys and what is the penalty to them if they don't meet it? Starting to get worried they won't meet our date which is currently mid-July... Sigh... Starting to get worried they won't meet our date which is currently mid-July... Sigh... I would guess after final payment and key hand over. The penalty for M is $50/day. That does not even cover any rent you have to pay, or even worse, if you have to renew your lease or move out! Unfortunately, the contract only covers the builders. There is nothing in their contract that covers the client in any meaningful or actual value. This is with every builder, not just M. If you have the time or the know-how, do it 'Owner Builder'. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2367Apr 27, 2013 8:26 pm End of contract date in terms of receiving money ($50/day) for going over build time is PCI not handover/keys. It is why M is always keen for PCI Ahh. so they need to reach PCI before end of contract term. Once PCI, any issues to be resolved, does not matter how long it takes them. They just delay the receiving of their last 3% payment. Again, the contract advantage is to the builder, not the client. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2370Apr 27, 2013 10:34 pm MrsRose Jo & Waz, Yes the stupid vents are installed below the baths. We couldn't get them to remove them and we tried pretty hard - hope you have more luck. We have them too. One right in front of laundry door, another in the formal dining. I wish they they could make them more discreet. They need to be there for servicing. I might replace the grills with something nicer. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2371Apr 28, 2013 10:27 am as predicted no work completed on Friday, someone was on site but could not see anything done as everything was the same as it was on Thursday minus the padlock. hope the whip gets cracked next week. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2372Apr 28, 2013 10:34 am Ricaaaa as predicted no work completed on Friday, someone was on site but could not see anything done as everything was the same as it was on Thursday minus the padlock. hope the whip gets cracked next week. During the build, we have had couple tradies that worked all the way and Saturdays (brick layer & painters). But others, never turn up even on Fridays. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2375Apr 28, 2013 7:55 pm nugget We had a painter in this week and asks straight up if we have a paint roller as he didnt have one(we were gobsmacked, but lucky we did),no wonder we have had so many problems. WHAT! Are you serious? (shaking head side-to-side) Ricaaaa don't they only get paid if they work? Yes, that is correct. beats me!
