So good to see things are moving along for so many! Sometimes with all the frustrations it really can feel so demotivating and just really annoy you! Things are moving along here. Kitchen was mainly installed last week and the stone benches went on on Tuesday! Spoke to our SS yesterday and the tilers are due to start next week while we are away. Have booked in a visit for the Monday when we are back to go through and actually see everything without trying to peer through the super dusty windows! Here are some shots through the windows that I kind of could get: The kitchen: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The island bench: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The pantry: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And the gorgeous sink in the pantry I am in love with: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Merlot Hilton with Traditional Facade Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2262Apr 18, 2013 5:56 am Vatche Scaffolding is down, and the house now can be seen. Gorgeous Vatche! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2263Apr 18, 2013 5:59 am dsa39 Vatche lipgloss Ok guys anyone recommend concretor for drive way western Sydney. Just want colored concrete....had 1 quote n nearly fell off my chair I got 2 quotes so far for our house: $16 & 18k for coloured, not painted. I will get a 3rd one. It all depends on the area being covered. Ours also require moving of the current driveway kerb. Um wow that sounds expensive although you do have the extra to be done I need a quote for exposed aggregate and Im getting quotes around the 10k mark. My sister had coloured concrete around 5K. One thing Ive noticed that when they find out what suburb you live in if it happens to be slightly affluent they whack on a surcharge! Im really struggling to get anyone to call me back so much for the recession We are just about to start trying to get quotes but given how expensive anything here is we are fully expecting it to be high!!! Will be interesting to see how much compared to Sydney prices it is! Ricaa - your bricks look great - I hope we are very close behind you. We have bricks (and I am very excited by the colour - I didn't take photos when we chose so it is a bit of a surprise given it us about 6 months ago) and a huge pile of sand and pallets of cement and there was someone there this morning - I didn't get to go past tonight do don't yet know what they achieved today viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46741 Clovelly - Masterton Homes 5% to M 290312 CDC 21/06 20 days 29/08 Slab 17/09 Frame 26/09 Bricks 24/10 Roof tiles 20/11 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2268Apr 18, 2013 7:46 am Ricaaaa booo to delays I would kick someone's butt for you if it helped funny you mention that unless you contact the ss you would be none the wiser as to what is happening, a friend is building up in qld a smaller builder and then admin assigned to her sends her a weekly update of everything that has happened so far and everything that is scheduled to happen, usually on a Wednesday, she fwds her updates to me and it's freaken awesome i was like why can't M do that surely they would have everything scheduled and tracked so how hard is it to send an email to your client with an update....it might stop people bothering you as often as they might do because I know me I want to know what's going on (as i'm sure there are plenty of other people out there that feel the same way) so a simple email would stop me smsing and asking what's schedule for the week?? As I mentioned, all M has to do is use better communication skills and employ staff who look after clients needs, rather than ring and rudely order the client to 'stay off site'. Every step, every progress on the planning/selection/build is a MAJOR thing for clients spending a fortune on their dream. Tap into this client need, and you dig gold. Takes no effort or money. But, "Jim would not have it any other way"... Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2269Apr 18, 2013 9:45 am Hi to those who build via DA (Council) I have my DA approval, and now to get Construction Certificate I've been told to pay these 5 myself. This is the day that Masterton arranges at handover, whereby all the post PCI items get installed, such as - - electric garage door - hot water system - alarm system - home hub - data cabling termination - speaker cabling termination - delivery and installation of oven, dishwasher, etc - connection to gas - installation of carpet Most of this was happening at the house when I left there this morning. They'd made substantial progress with carpet, alarm and all cabling was being finished. I'll nick back later to get some photos. Will keep you posted! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2275Apr 18, 2013 6:03 pm Went and checked on the frame work today and we now have windows and sliding doors. Things seem to be moving along quite nicely considering that it has been raining occasionally here. Have found that they are still working in the light rain which is good for us - the three guys are obviously not scared of a little bit of rain. Thanks Vatche Security bond is for damage to roadway, footway, etc), Tree deposit is to protect the tree that is in the council strip Did you have to pay the security bond, or Masterton pay for it? Masterton is asking me to pay for the security bond. My understanding is they should be paid by Masterton. As Masterton is the one who is doing the building work. I dont understand why do I have to pay if Masterton may/possibly cause the damage. If M does cause damage, I'm sure they will pay for it, but the land owner pays the bonds, as per council regulation. You have no way out. Unfortunately.
