Not sure about the 5th burner, at it is not fully installed yet. No, it was a free upgrade. The only free throw-in Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2923Jun 24, 2013 3:15 pm Went past today - and was delighted to see they were working - while its not actually raining, it is pretty cold and miserable and everything is wet from the weekend downpour. Today they seemed to be installing our cladding - just a tiny bit around the front window where Masterton said they could not brick. They have also installed the upstairs eaves, the angled bricks around the windows upstairs (windowsills?) and the antennae - Our SS was right - there is a lot of fiddly stuff to do around the outside. Still can't log into Photobucket so no photos but will keep trying Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2924Jun 24, 2013 3:38 pm Helpful son...here are photos - whole of house - though hard to see given the scaffolding - roof (including workman), gutter, shower recess and Sentinel van Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag125/HouseofRock1/0489AD23-B3EB-4123-8D3A-966FDFF2B407-16489-00000CC3643D67C0_zps310e0303.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag125/HouseofRock1/83C6B8CF-43F3-4F72-8EED-FD842011E859-16489-00000CC2851179EC_zps82e8e8b5.jpg http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag125/HouseofRock1/9309D6FA-5DC6-4309-A68B-347273FE4735-16489-00000CC24C5FBE80_zps41a31ebe.jpg Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2925Jun 24, 2013 8:06 pm Vatche Ricaaaa 5 burner?? is your big one a wok or fish burner? did you pay to upgrade to the smeg? The only free throw-in ahhh ok will be keen to see once it's finished, as they didn't give me a choice in the stove, i requested upgrade to smeg and only had the one stove they offered which included a fish burner would have rather the one with the wok but anyway....and also the wok/fish burner on the side like I think yours, it makes zero sense to me top put the biggest burner in the middle, how on earth do you also put a second pot on..../end rant free upgrade dishwasher....damn you :p that's a nice score!!! smile HouseofRock glad the workers are still going even with all this rain! when are the insides planned to commence? Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2926Jun 25, 2013 7:49 pm Hi everyone, very long time lurker, first time poster. We are considering building with Masterton (Villina 36). We have had the free site inspection and the quote but not made any payments for plans and formal tender yet. The quote we have does not mention anything about soil classification, it can't because they never did a soil test. Most builders would do a soil test and base their site costs on it. Just wondering if anyone else had this free inspection and if they had any issues/surprises with costs once they paid their $3500 deposit? If your land is in a new estate, then speak to the sales team. They should be able to have the developers provide the soil test results from when the development was registered. this is what we did and provided it to our builder. Kev Apr 12 - Land purchased. We got hit with a higher MPa concrete because of acid sulphate soil, however we did expect this as we had noticed it on the 149 certificate from council. Was only $820 anyway. Not sure but soil might also effect the class of slab which can be a couple grand, but due to the slope we had that anyway. We did originally get a tender from another builder who did the soil test but we paid $800 for the tender. We are in the Sutherland shire. Our thread. Went past on Monday (in the rain) to find that the aircon installation in the roof had been done. We just need to clean bricks this week and start gyprock. Had to have a laugh though because when we pulled up my mother started going off her brain about the extra rubbish being dumped on our land (we found a box that had contained a bed frame in our back yard on Saturday) especially when she saw this big box for an airconditioner in the front yard - should have seen her face when I said it was ours as it had our name on it - can't blame her for her rant but I think she will think twice now Symphony MBTF/granny flat Jun-Dec Dep/Plans/air/alarm/tiles/clrs Jan Elec/DA app Feb CC Mar 20day Apr Slab/frame May Bricks Jun Roof/wiring/insulat Jul Gyprock/lockup/kitchen Sep PCI/handover Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2931Jun 26, 2013 8:41 am onebighappyfamily Wish the rain would go away because my eaves are getting soaked from where they cant put the tiles on because of the roof rail. So much constant light rain, we still do not have any driveway formwork done I'm hoping they will come by Friday and do the formwork, for pouring early next week. Something to budget for: Just realised how expensive it is to get an electrician to install the light fittings . On average $35 per light fitting, just for labour! We have at least 30. That's over $1k already. Add 2 IXL @ $300 each. Close to $1700, and that does not include the actual light fittings yet... Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2936Jun 26, 2013 5:00 pm Drove past today - noone was working so I took the opportunity to have a look inside - plumbing and gas seem to be done, TV connections are in, sliding door workings are in, cleaned the upstairs floor, alarm wiring and laundry steps are in. It feels a little early in the process, but starting to wish that I had put a bath in my ensuite - now that I have seen it, there would have been room - and that I had made our walk in robes larger, giving up some space in our bedroom which is huge. Also, they have put in temporary steps - and I quite like the way that they run but it is different to what we have planned! Otherwise, I am very pleased with what we have planned and cannot wait to see it finished. Welcome NFC, We had our first soil classification come back as E class. You would think this was almost unbuildable as we could not get a price for an E class slab. We went back to the developer and they said they had not had any of their soil tests come back as E class and the worst they had was H class. When we went back to M with the developer's soil report, they had the firm re-test our soil (so we were told) and they classed it 2nd time around as a H2. This added about $5,700 to the total build cost over an M class. This took about 6 weeks for M to get their act together and we were ready to walk to another builder as we had found another house we really liked...... It was a very difficult time for us and got so upset by the lack of communication from M. We ended up going up the line to their Management team as the Sales person was just full of excuses. Also, they would never actually price us an E class slab which made us more furious...... 28/5 3.5K 1/8 Final Plans 20/9 Contracts/Selections 29/10 Council appr, CC 15/11 Scrape, peering 21/12 Slabbed, framed, bricks start 22/1 Bricks & roof comp 20/2 Lock up 5/4 Moved in and PCI Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 2940Jun 28, 2013 8:36 am For any of those people worried about Temperzone Air Con, I am currently sitting in my large lounge area (Symphony has very open plan living) which has 5 outlets running on a single zone (Zone 1) through a 15Kw unit and all I can say is I have to go and turn it down, as it is getting so hot.
