We were neck-to-neck last time. PS_Sirocco7, congratulation on your PCI stage. Not long to go HouseofRock, Well it could be good, meaning a less busy SS will take over, bad news is, the new SS has to catch-up on where things are at. If there has been any issues or changes, make sure you give the list again. jo&waz, I found out, technically, the extra tiles are not yours to keep, as they normally quote you for the covered area, and not by the number of boxes. They always order few extra (something they missed for my roof tiles , now they are short). But they should leave few, or a box as spare, just in case they brake in the future, as you would not ba able to match them ever again Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1667Feb 22, 2013 7:37 am HouseofRock Has anyone received a letter from masterton advising of a change of site supervisor as part of their commitment to quality and customer service? Is it good news or bad news? The one we had last week seemed to be doing a great job urgh... it happened to us early on, and it cost us 6 weeks of no work. And we inherited a SS that doesn't normally work in our area (and neither do his trades), so it's turned out that ours is always last in priority compared to his other projects. I mean, really, we're talking about the difference between Ryde and Lindfield - 10 minutes at worst. Really? Because of this, M will likely only just make the contract date, or even overshoot by a week or 3. Anyway, I hope yours turns out better than ours. I'm sure in other areas, they have more than 1 SS servicing the area. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1669Feb 22, 2013 7:08 pm Hi All, firstly PS Sirocco congrats! We were neck-to-neck last time. Not anymore you are way ahead of us now, we had no work done for over 4 weeks (Christmas and the bricklayers took an extra week off) then we had a week of rain when they came back other than the last two weeks, it has been very slow ever since really. Our SS does not contact us so we have to call him if a few days go by with nothing done, then, all of a sudden someone shows up for an hour or so.............or so it seems? We've had issues with a neighbours tree where one of their tree roots (on our block) was cut through causing the tree to become unstable and she's given the SS a few heated phone calls, she wants it to stay, sentimenal to her apparently although she doesn't live in the house, go figure, so I think he's keeping his distance, but from us too, as other nonsense with the certifier and council came up where they tried to force upon us a costly arrangement to save the tree, and have it tied to our foundations for at least the next 5 years with no consideration of future damage or cost to us let alone asking our permission At least the build is still moving forward, we have the roof on finally and I've noticed an antenna put up and some plumbing work done, other than that I can only look at others builds to see what happens next, so thanks to you and everyone that puts up pics and posts updates on this forum it's a great guide . But I'm really not sure I'd ever use Masterton again, this is a very different experience to 26 years ago 12 DA 22/6 Tiles 11/8 Aircon/Sent 17/8 Colours 24/8 Contract 24/8 Demo 5/10 Scrape 6/11 Slab 20/11 Frame 30/11 13 Roof 15/2 Insulation 25/3 Paint 8/5 Garage door 22/5 PCI 30/5 Keys 21/6 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1671Feb 22, 2013 8:32 pm shireduplex Not anymore you are way ahead of us now, we had no work done for over 4 weeks (Christmas and the bricklayers took an extra week off) then we had a week of rain when they came back other than the last two weeks, it has been very slow ever since really. But I'm really not sure I'd ever use Masterton again, this is a very different experience to 26 years ago Ahh man, that sucks! I feel for you. I know how you feel about trees. Don't get me wrong, I like trees, as long as they do not pose thereat to my family or house. We have a very tall gum tree in our back yard, and in the past we had branches just fall off during windy storms as thick as 15cm! But it has to stay Over here we get about 1 or 2 hours of work a week... Most days no one is there. Since the roof tiles done, it feels lke watching a snail move. Rain foretasted all of next week. I bet you anything, the small section of our roof tiles not completed last week, will claim rain days! AND no work will be carried forward. As if work was going anywhere, now it will be at stand still. The issue with our air-con dropper point (move from one room to the correct room, on the other side of the wall, as per plan) still is an issue, as the plan clearly states box square corner, but the move done (finally after months of asking), but a corner triangle. The carpenter taken the quick way out of it. I hope our SS will correct this ASAP. Not Happy M! I spoke to our SS yesterday afternoon and he has booked us in for handover this Monday the 25th. Our appliances should be delivered on Tuesday and we are also getting our carpets installed the same day and we plan on sleeping in the house Tuesday which should be cool. We should see our appliances installed on Wednesday as-well. woohoo!! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1675Feb 23, 2013 4:20 pm PS_Sirocco7 The cosmos must have heard me. So excited for you!!!! Unfortunately things haven't gotten better here! Like Vatche and Shireduplex we are feeling the pain of slow or no progress..... so far this week the lower roof has been 'going to go on' but given they don't seem to spend much time on site they have taken the whole week to put the panels in place and done a small amount of the ridgecapping and then nothing with way too much rain in sight! A bit frustrating given they put the roof on the entire top level (probably 3-4 times the amount of space) in less time and it has been a month since they finished that! Jo&Waz, I think you are right about the issues with our build, like you they just seem to keep coming. Did you resolve the tile issue?
