Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1446Jan 25, 2013 8:12 am I'm so anxious, can't wait till this afternoon to see the house with roof tiles done! I also just opted to have sound insulation for all internal walls, both ground and first floor (As an add on cost dealing directly with the insulation sub-contracting company). I think it would help to absorb all the noise since we have all tiled flooring downstairs and laminate flooring upstairs. Only the stairs have carpets. Vatche I think they are the best pics yet so clear you can really see the progression. You are going to be amazed once the roof goes on but get ready for lock up its going to drive you nuts cause the work on the inside is the best part. It is so exciting though actually seeing a roof go on and it look like a house! We are away for the long weekend but my mum rang to give me a progress update that our roof on the upper level is about 3/4 on now!!! Merlot Hilton with Traditional Facade Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1451Jan 26, 2013 6:37 am Banj For the frames progress invoice yesterday, which I'll be happy to pay WHEN THE FRAME IS FINISHED. Did you get invoice before the frames are up? That's not right Roof tiles started The top roof tiles are now mostly in place. They may work on Saturday finishing off the angle cover tiles. Not sure what is the next step as yet. I also noticed the laundry door frame was installed. Not sure if I missed it before or it is new. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1453Jan 28, 2013 7:21 pm Banj So I'm expecting a new invoice this week for the frame stage. Going to ask for a site inspection before I pay, any advice what I should be looking for? I rather do the inspection after bricks and roof tiles, before gyprocking. I was told by my private inspector to wait for that stage, as defects will show then, and there is no point doing at frames only, save money. If you feel or have seen some major defects, by all means, get inspection done. Don't hold any payment to M, it will cause unnecessary delays and contract issues. Rain, rain, go away! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1454Jan 28, 2013 10:22 pm Man, this rain is the worst, isn't it? Loving those stairs dsa39, and wow Vatche you're hammering along. Loving everyone's progress. We had nothing for a week, then suddenly they delivered all the doors and fittings, and are have started on those. We have a front door, with a lock, so it won't be long till we're at lockup stage. Theoretically, a solid door or panel on the garage entrance and they're done for lock-up. I think that will happen tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. Yeah weather is sucky we're stuck in Melbourne as Sydney weather stopped us from flying home last night. Need to call dons as we have a 12 app to redo the bathroom tiles as some of our selection is out of stock and we don't want it to hold up the build, I don't mind as I wasn't really thrilled with hubbies choice Guys there wasn't one progress payment we made that had every requirement finalised however there were other things done, eg not all our bricks were cleaned but the aircon was installed. You need to remember that they get whichever trade is available and get em in. So far we have had no probs and steaming away. We're at lock up last week have no idea where we are at as we have been in Tasmania. Wish us luck getting home! Might same some of the flooring I checked your blog, and lots of photos! Looking good. I might suggest, if you know how, to edit the layout and add the widget to allow other to sign up and follow your blog feed. That way, people connected to your blog can get a notification every time you update I see there will be lots of 'rain day' claim for the next few days Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1457Jan 29, 2013 8:36 am Vatche Thanks jo&waz, I checked your blog, and lots of photos! The wall colour we selected (Bleached Ivory) seems a lot darker than the sample. Mind you, I only got a chance to check it out and take pics this evening. The woodwork also looks dark. Im glad we didnt stick with the darker Teak stain. Am hoping the painting will be done this week then electrical and plumbing fit-out next week. Our floors are booked in for the 13th of Feb too. It seems surreal but I think we only have a few weeks to go now.
