Very exciting time for everyone. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1411Jan 22, 2013 6:45 am Vatche Vina Good afternoon. Happy new year to everyone. Long time no post. M called me up saying they will post my contract and asked me to sign and send back using the pre-paid envelope. Is this the same process that everyone had when signing contract? Also, what do I need to watch out for in the contract? Has anyone got burned or tricked after signing contract because of not reading the 'fine' details? Thank you everyone. Welcome back vina The contract is pretty much standard. I would definitely read it at least once. Pay attention to the payment amounts and progress %. On your copy, place a mark next to any item you are not clear about and ask M about it. Yes, I got the prepaid envelop for the return of the signed ones Finally, you can always ask things in the forum for ideas (of-course, we cannot be held responsible ) Thank you Vatche. Originally in December M told me to come M Office to discuss contract with Gary Worthington, but now they said they will only send that contract and asked me to sign and return back. So I thought it was a bit strange. Now that I have things moving again, I will let everyone know my progress. I created signature about my current progress, so hopefully this time the signature comes up. Hi Vatche, the only scaffolding that is up is at the front for the balcony. I have taken some photos will post ASAP. Husband drove past today the waterproofer was there doing the laundry and bathrooms and the stair guys were installing the staircase. The carpenter showed up and left cause there were too many tradies now thats a problem i like to have! Front door is on and the house will be ours in ten weeks! Our bench tops, sinks and vanities were installed on 11.01 and we had the chippies here on the 17.01 to do a few odd things which took them around 1.5 hrs. I spoke to our SS yesterday, as he was back from his break, and he was disappointed that the painters hadnt made a start as they should have been here around a week ago. He also had our floor booked in for the end of this month but will have to put it off for a bit later. After talking to our SS, around 2 hours later the plasterers were back to finish of the cornices in the kitchen, bathroom & ensuite and the tiler is here today to finish off the last of the tiling. Id say the painters will make a start this week too. Our SS reckons we should still be all done by the end of Feb. So around 4 weeks to go. Ive got pics and updates on my thread and blog. Didnt post here as I was waiting to input a decent update. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1416Jan 22, 2013 10:46 am PowerballSam I am loving all the progress/photos. Very exciting time for everyone. Hows your house going? Are you all settled in and loving it? Any maintenance issues? Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1417Jan 22, 2013 4:35 pm Hi All, love reading all your postings. We are trying to build the overture elite in oran park, currently we are waiting for the plans to be redrawn due to heaps of stuff missing, M told me that when the second plans have been drawn, if anything is not there I can still sign the plans but also sign a tender variation including the mistakes. is this normal? or should the plans be 100% correct as I don't like the $1000 price tag after we sign. Mastertons Overture Elite @ Oran Park. 2012 Aug. Journey Begins Dec. Tender 2013 Jan. Plans Aug. 19 Slabed Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1418Jan 22, 2013 4:44 pm Welcome ben+lisa. This is quite normal. They will hit you up for the extra $1000 if you try to amend anything after the contract has been signed and after youve made your selections. You will eventually also get a third set of plans you need to sign off on called the construction plans. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1419Jan 22, 2013 5:19 pm ben+lisa Hi All, love reading all your postings. Welcome ben+lisa, The $1k fee tag is only after you sign off the contract. If the plan is not correct, do not sign off till it is. Same with the tender. Make sure it's reflecting the final amount. Once you are happy with the final plans and tender, then you can sign them off, followed by the contract. It took me 4 times to get the plan right, even though we had absolutely no changes in the house design. Once you are happy with the design, then you know everything else will fall into place. At this stage I would also think about lights, electrical, air-con and any options you may have, so when the time comes for those items, there are no major issues. Hope this helps Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 3.0 1420Jan 22, 2013 5:20 pm Top gutters installed The top roof gutters are now installed.
