Whilst the "faraday cage" effect can impact mobile phone reception, attributing poor mobile phone reception solely to a colorbond roof is nonsense. In any event, many tiled roofs have foil sarking which would have the exact same transmission properties as colorbond. I would be questioning the adequate coverage of my mobile phone provider before making statements about roofing material.
