We thought we were going well, however a week to partially fix the Facade that was done wrong at the start. Least the frame is established with blueboard awaiting rendering. Should look as we expected and hopefully better given it will be rendered rather than painted. Plumbing 2nd Fix complete however they have installed the wrong tapware to our Bath. Guess someone in the office ordered the wrong product even though it is spelt out in our Contract. In contrary we are happy in how our Ensuite is looking and the BIG Rain showerhead awaits us Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ A plus is they did install the correct roller door today Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ HOWEVER, not that we wish to continue to complain BUT, our Essa Stone Benchtop was installed last week to which we identified a noticeable chip on a corner edge and reported it to SS. We checked out the place today and noticed the Kitchen Benchtop, a prominent piece to the Open Living Area has just been patched up with poly filla..... WTF !!! How amateur does this Builder want to be. Who in their right mind just patches up a stone Bench and think that is acceptable. UNFKNBLVBL Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Be interested what people think of this effort ?? Oh yeah, and lastly on the Ensuite Privacy lock to the Ensuite, well the lock does not even align with the opposing door so you can even lock the damn thing. HOW HARD CAN IT BE........ Now it is just a matter of staying the course and on their back to get things fixed one after another after another !!!! Small world hey, the KP Childcare centre (assuming that is the one) is walking distance and has a good reputation from what we hear. You building in the nearby area yourself ????? We used to live in the area sort of, at west lakes. I have left her there as good child care is hard to come by. I love the area and considered buying there but we have ended up just south of the city. I can still easily get west from there so all good Can I just say that I love your render colour! Re: Painting has started !! 108Sep 04, 2013 8:33 am Looks great Miss Mia. Such a shame about the benchtop. Hope all the niggles are fixed up soon. Especially the puttied up benchtop?? What on earth are they thinking? SS claims he was on to the Benchtop issue and expressed his concern to the Installer as to how they rectified the issue. We will be keeping an eye on it in case it was just a bit of lip service and will be ensuring no further 'short cuts' are made. As expected, if a short cut can be made and a $$ saved then that is generally the path taken assuming they get away with it In having colleagues who have built homes and their reasonably good experience (albeit diff Builder) we strongly believe we ran over a Black Cat somewhere along the line. In the end, we are sure the micro management we have undertaken will pay off and the end result will be 95% on par with what was expected. Just sux cos we use so much energy dealing with such issues we have not even made a dent in organising Driveways, landscaping plans blah blah blah Not long now though and should have keys in prob about 6 weeks. Takes the construction period to be 5 1/2 mths which is on par with there 20 week estimate. Love all of your colour selections! Not too much longer now! Very exciting. You do have to stand your ground with things your not happy with. At the end of the day your paying for it and you need to be happy with it. No regrets!!! We finally have gyprock and should be locked up on monday!!! Woo Hoo! Re: PCI not far off 111Sep 15, 2013 9:44 pm Less than two weeks, carpenters just finishing off their final touches. Painters were there AGAIN over the weekend doing their final coat and some patch ups that were highlighted by the SS. Few more updated pics:- They took note and fixed up our kitchen bench properly, not just some D grade gap filla as shown in pic earlier in the post. We think the colour comes up trumps with the Polar White laminate silk finish to the joinery. Builder has followed us up for our last variation (they lost it) so the Accounts Dept can start to prepare our final bill. We have started looking at Building Insurance in anticipation of handover and quotes have ranged from $400 to $560 to $850. Best read the PDS in details and see what the loop holes are. We are meant to have a pre PCI walkthrough this week to go over any 'obvious' areas that need attention. Not much left to do apart from Electricial fit off (given they started the 2nd fix 5 weeks ago we have little faith when this will be done in a timely manner) Finish off painting the Portico Roof Paint the Render facade Install the 'correct' tapware to the bath Install kitchen mixer From there must be close to handover, well depending on how many issues our independent inspector identifies. I take it an independent inspector was worthwhile then? The OP has gone The latch and striker are definitely not aligned but there was no point trying to help the OP understand that. Hence the reason they are no longer with us. 12 5557 Yes, I have. But, I haven't paid yet. They know they did not do proper jobs and I sent the email re: final payment, I cannot pay. They said, we will do 2nd PCI. Since… 2 5486 We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing.
