Builder had agreed to us having our pool shell installed at this stage of our Build to which it was notated in our Home Contract. Now come the crunch Builder has advised the Pool guys that they do not want it installed until the end of the Build and his guys are on to 2nd fix inside. Contradictory to what was discussed numerous times, agreed to by construction manager and documented in the prelim and New Home Contracts.... It was advised to put the pool in now so we do not have to de-energize overhead wires to install from a different location. About $3,000 to $6,000 to be avoided by putting the pool in now... Hopefully the SS will reply to an email (so far two emails over two weeks and not one reply), or will find time in his diary to meet at site with the pool guys to work this out. We understand his point of view but why agree to the strategy in the first place. S@@t storm No.1 about to blow in to town this week.... Re: Cut the Ribbon - We've been slabbed 73May 28, 2013 9:27 pm _lucinda If the site inspector isn't communicating, is it time to go higher up? Is a bit like pulling teeth Lucinda, doesn't help when the Pool Company has the sales guy give one piece of advice which is then the opposite of the pool installer and admin officer. With the later giving advice by means of just looking at Google Earth..... I would have thought being in the Industry and knowing the challenges a more thorough and informed approach would be undertaken. Have the pool issues been resolved? Re: Cut the Ribbon - We've been slabbed 78Jun 12, 2013 10:06 pm _lucinda Wow, looks so good; and so fast. Have the pool issues been resolved? Pool issues resolved, fact that we have not heard from the pool supplier since our site meeting a week and a bit ago it will be resolved whether they like it or not given their tardiness to confirm yay or nay about the Plan B that was proposed. So glad it worked out though as have no idea where wood would have been stored or roof tiles let alone giving the tradies space to do their thing. But what a week and a half it has been. Just over a week and the Frames are complete, roof trusses complete and even the insert for the bath tub Did do a couple of quick measurements to ensure the frames were set out correctly on the slab and noted that the depth of one BIR was 59cm and not 60cm with the latter the standard depth for a BIR. Research to be done on this but hopefully no issue and given the complexity no surprise there is a small variance here and there. Gutters and fascia installed, roof tiles delivered with likely commencement to get the roof started tomorrow. Must say we are impressed we have had continued activity since the slab had cured with not a day of silence, rain or shine. Hopefully a sign that we are tracking well for a timely build period Minor heart attack today when looking over the roof tiles on site and they looked a lighter shade than what our selection photos revelead. Brief panic but all seems as chosen. Happy days so far...... Re: Cut the Ribbon - We've been slabbed 80Jun 13, 2013 12:05 am I thought the same with my roof tiles but once they were put up and it rained on them what do you know!! They went darker and shiny! lol Ours were covered in dust! Hope yours end up as you planned. They move fast in the begining but our M build is now taking forever to brick. Nearly 4 weeks now. GRRRR I have heard a few say that, so must be the way they work. All the best with it all! The OP has gone The latch and striker are definitely not aligned but there was no point trying to help the OP understand that. Hence the reason they are no longer with us. 12 5564 Yes, I have. But, I haven't paid yet. They know they did not do proper jobs and I sent the email re: final payment, I cannot pay. They said, we will do 2nd PCI. Since… 2 5486 We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports with photos at every stage,… 6 7102 |
