Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 18, 2012 7:28 pm Hi everyone - I am building a house in Melbourne (owner build) and the number of choices is becoming quite a challenge! Your help would be appreciated! Does have any suggestions on a good render colour for the top storey to match the fascade? The windows and gutters are woodland grey. The fascia is dune. I also have the option of either rendering the columns or just the top part above the columns (there are 7 rows of brick that might look ok rendered). Not sure what to do about that either - was thinking perhaps to leave it brick. Any suggestions welcome. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: HELP! Once the bricks have been acid washed they should come up nicely. My experiences with render over board have been often negative due to the boards separating and the render cracking. Because of your “Dune” fascia your narrowed your colour selections. Upstairs: Render or paint in “Dune”. This means your window frames will be more prominent. Upstairs eaves: Paint the eaves in “Dune” ¼, ½ strength or full strength. One of my pet hates is looking up at white eaves. Portico: Render in Woodland Grey Garage Door: Woodland Grey Here is another option: Upstairs: same as above Wall with the two small windows: Render in “Woodland Grey” Garage Door Colour: “Headland”. You will need to check out if the brick and the Headland colorbond colour have the right toning. Cheers PS Re: HELP! Our facade doesn't have portico - just a blade wall. I just thought you might like to see that pic as another idea for render colours - it is Solver White Cliffs 300% Hey. Head to a metal and decide on which profile you will use first. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34460 |
