Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 15, 2012 2:06 pm Hi guys, New to the forum . My wife and I are considering a house and land package to be signed off on next year - currently we're just doing research on the various estates and which is the best. Important criteria for us -Must be no more than 30 minutes from South Guildford. We both work near there and a short-ish commute would be great. So no estates in Alkimos or Baldivis or anything far away like that. -Must be a fibreoptic estate, either Telstra Velocity or NBNCo. -Must be 280k or less for a 15m frontage block. So far the only estates we've found that we like are Brookleigh Estate in Caversham Taylor Private Estate in Caversham Avonlee Estate St Leonard's Estate West Swan so far, Avonlee is looking to be the best. It has the cheapest land, it is an NBNCO estate (I think) and is in a good location for us. St Leonard's is a close second. What I'm looking for is some opinions from those who have built, are building, or are planning to build in any of the estates near there and who might be able to offer some insight as to what we might expect from them. In particular, anybody who has got a finished house in Avonlee and can confirm what is going on with the fibreoptic situation there would be fantastic. Regards, Dhal Re: Avonlee Estate Western Australia 2Aug 15, 2012 8:48 pm There's a great forum about Avonlee here. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53171 I came to a similar list when choosing my 15m frontage block. However out of your list I'd rate my preference considering, price, radiation towers, ammenities etc. Winner is Brookleigh Estate 2nd Avonlee 3rd St Leonards 4th Taylors The fibre optic in avonlee is best brought up in that forum i linked above. Apperently Terra Novis ain't the best on organising stuff to get sorted so not sure if they met the NBN installation requirements yet. My suburb is due to be done by November and Avonlee would be at the same time if they can meet requirements. Avonlee Estate Western Australia 4Aug 15, 2012 11:01 pm We're in malvern springs round the corner in ellenbrook. We're fibre optic estate too thru Telstra no problems here The road to success is always under construction House completed April 2011 - slowly making it a home... Judy & I imbibing in some red nectar to drown our disaptointment , progress made today by 3 brickies + 1 labourer pretty dismal to say the least. However chin up and all that, it will happen!!!!! rRoadrage your brickies were still there when we left.
