Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Frozenkuku's build: Dual Frontage terrace @ lightsview S 61Nov 10, 2012 12:10 am Oh darn! I just read about the LV problem. I'm sorry to hear that, what a bummer. Lightsview normally places terrace fences at 2.5m, so make sure it's not actually 2.5x7. That would be a massive loss of land and would require an entirely new floorplan. 2-Storey Terrace Build at Lightsview, Northgate SA Estimated completion: July 2013 Re: Frozenkuku's build: Dual Frontage terrace @ lightsview S 62Nov 10, 2012 12:38 am Hi TripleA, yes u r correct, if they don't knock down, we would require an entirely new floorplan. and guess what is happening today. wall knocked down Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ now i finally back on track. 7.5M Dual Frontage terrace @ lightsview SA /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58754 moved in - April 2014 furnitured - August 2014 home theatre - September 2014 Game room - December 2013 moved in - 09 April 2014 Frozenkuku's build: lightsview SA - Wall knocked down 64Nov 10, 2012 7:38 am That's great Frozenkuku! If you're not happy make sure you say something as it may be harder to change it later on. It's a really fun experience (especially for women like me ) So, I really hope you and your partner enjoy it! 6m Terrace House - Lightsview (Northgate SA) First fix completed ... 15 February 2013 Render completed... 19 February 2013 Insulation... 19 February 2013 Plasterboard... 21 February 2013 /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58747 Re: Frozenkuku's build: lightsview SA - Wall knocked down 67Nov 14, 2012 8:49 pm Frozenkuku, I know I am late to the party but I am very happy to see that they have done the right thing and removed the fence! Selections... I think just go in with a relaxed mind and choose what you like. We are yet to see our final product of course, but we think we have chosen well, and we just went with what felt right. Pretty relaxed stuff. 5.5m Terrace House - Lightsview (Northgate SA) Moved in!! - 22 February 2013 /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53455 Re: Frozenkuku's build: lightsview SA - Wall knocked down 68Nov 14, 2012 9:48 pm my builder told me if I am not happy during selections, give him a call. And dont sign off anything untill we show him what we select. So we should be cool with that, my friend's riverg** selection however is an stress experience. they force u to select everything in one day, if not, huge penalty applies. Luckily their selection results were very good. Juski, if you had chance to look our block, you will see that they only fix our fences yet. you can see the rest of our lane are not fix at all. the stairs and fences are still too wide, also all along the river, the one without houses were all wrong. The one with houses were correct. (you can see the stair is much narrower + one side of fence is gone (cos that is where the footing is)) 7.5M Dual Frontage terrace @ lightsview SA /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58754 moved in - April 2014 furnitured - August 2014 home theatre - September 2014 Game room - December 2013 moved in - 09 April 2014 Re: Frozenkuku's build: lightsview SA - Wall knocked down 69Nov 16, 2012 2:35 am We got council approval today...yeah. on the other hand, we got our energy report back....all the insulation and windows failed. the builder said it's not bad but we think it is bad, i told him to work out the variation before i go selections. I reckon it will be around 8K plus extra. it is crazy..they want us to do some special insulation that is exp...not the standard size, such as R2.7 with foil on it. 7.5M Dual Frontage terrace @ lightsview SA /viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58754 moved in - April 2014 furnitured - August 2014 home theatre - September 2014 Game room - December 2013 moved in - 09 April 2014 Re: Frozenkuku's build: lightsview SA - Council approved 70Nov 16, 2012 6:31 am Thats so frustrating re: the energy rating report... Every builder does this differently I guess as ours was sent off and approved before going to council and any changes made were done. I think they are really just making sure there is no extra work involved once they have sent everything off to council etc. We are in a very frustraing point, and they keep saying things to us, and i am not entirely sure why we havent seen a report... It won't be long now until your building approval is done and then you can start building! Very exciting! Sorry to hear about your energy rating. I find it a bit strange that it failed though, as you would think that the builders would now know what LV/Council want?
