Browse Forums Building A New House Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 22Jan 12, 2013 1:17 am Wow how exciting for you that your almost at building stage!! Feels like we're never going to get there lol We stopped by Austral Bricks today ( what a day to pop in, was so hot!) and looked at some bricks. The colour selection booklet Beechwood gave us apparently is old and Austral had to give us new one. So I had to go home and work out which bricks were still available, discontinued, standard , upgrade etc. We also have to see Beechwood about our plans and tender.. Some things missing that we discussed.. Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 23Jan 12, 2013 8:57 am Jack_Jill, thanks but were holding off on ANY wedding plans until after all this house stuff lol Wow, you guys had some movement on things during Christmas/New year break, that's awesome! How exciting!!! Are you going to be posting photos on here of the progress, would be great to see!!! Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 24Jan 12, 2013 11:11 am Lol I know how u feel we did wedding first and it's taken us years after that to save for a house! Yeah it's so exciting to see things moving we picked the house and land package in august so it's not too long but still feels like it has taken awhile. I'm so excited. We had our porta loo delivered this week and ive never been so excited! I might put a few photos up but not too many hehe. How did u go with bricks? I though austal had a lot nicer bricks then boral however having to have ones for saline soil really cut down the choice. We went for an upgraded brick which didn't cost too much, we r building with austal ashphalt and I love it! I was really worried with bricks because I figured if we pick wrong. Olour on walls floors etc can always replace in a few years but if u hate your bricks you are stuck with them. So how long until beechwood are expecting either of your builds will start? Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 26Jan 17, 2013 8:30 pm Definately excited about how quickly things are moving now, we got a call from the concreter today that piers go down tomorrow and that the slab goes down next Wednesday! Hooray so excited. And then next Tuesday we are off to finalise our kitchen colours which we have changed a million times. Originally we wanted malt and truffle lini however we have no direct windows onto the kitchen and we have been into a house the same design as ours (the builders sister built the same house) and darker colours really lightened the room. So now we are thinking white cabits with grey bench tops but see what happens on Tuesday. Is everyone else having trouble with Kitchen colours.
Hope you guys are having some luck with Beechwood now that everyone is back from Christmas break. Blogger i went down on the weekend and could not see where you are talking about with the shop area and water features? Where is that being built. Ok wrapping this up to go study some more kitchen colours (i'm a bit OCD hehe) but as promised a picture of our scrapped land. Hopefully i will have a more interesting picture next week http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/70 ... 13221.jpg/ Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 27Jan 17, 2013 9:14 pm The water feature and proposed shop area is to the left of the sales office near richardson road. they have made a big clearing for it. if you have a copy of the master plan you can see it on there. we were stuck for our kitchen colours as well so we went safe and picked all white.
Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 28Jan 20, 2013 3:59 pm Hey guys! So excited we officially have a start! Piering was done on Friday and Saturday! We are now all set up and ready for the slab next week! Blogger had a look at the site scrape and they seem to be going a fair way down! Apparently shopping centre will be on both corners of Richardson road, hopefully more on the other side don't want it too close hehe. Question for you guys though- how often do you go and look at your block and do you see other people around? Each weekend I go there it seems like a ghost town with nobody around checking on their blocks and builds, I like to go every week to check on how our build is going as well as the builds around us. Feels strange never to see anyone else around? Hope you both had a nice weekend!!! Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 29Jan 22, 2013 3:36 pm Yes there is a lot of activity happening there but not sure which shops are going where I was told by one of the land sales ladies that Woolworths was going there.
Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 30Jan 22, 2013 3:55 pm Hi guys, I bought in October as part of the Stage 3 release and am still waiting for the land to be registered. Helen in the sales office told me around April it should be done. Street has been put in and I am getting excited. Took a visit today and its looking good! Slowly picking a builder since I know April will be here before I know it. Glad to meet you all Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 31Jan 23, 2013 11:12 pm Hi alli welcome, great to hear from another east villager! we have offically been given the go ahead from our builder and should be starting in the next two weeks so happy about that. alli april will be here before we know it, time is going so fast. good luck choosing your builder and home. Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 32Jan 24, 2013 6:47 am blogger3456 Hi alli welcome, great to hear from another east villager! we have offically been given the go ahead from our builder and should be starting in the next two weeks so happy about that. alli april will be here before we know it, time is going so fast. good luck choosing your builder and home. Thanks I completely agree with you, blogger3456 that April will be here quickly, I still can't believe that 2012 is over with! Congratulations on the start of your build. Which builder did you choose? This week I have been looking at builders and seen some really nice houses. Going to shop more closely on Saturday at Oran Park/Gregory Hills. So far I like McDonald Jones, Wisdom Homes, Eden Brae and a few others. I am sure I haven't seen 1/4 of the builders on offer though! Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 33Jan 24, 2013 8:21 pm Helllo, Congrats blogger on a start date how exciting looks like our builds will go up not too long apart from each other because today we got our slab woohoo!!! So excited. It is much higher then I was expecting but looks pretty good from what I can see! (Although I'm no slab expert lol) Alli welcome, I love the new release u should be close to the park and some of the blocks up there are a decent size. Good luck with finishing a builder! I was lucky I found a package that I really liked otherwise I don't know how I would choose. The new hermitage estate has a lot of new homes. U looking to build single or double story? I'm surprised at how few double stories there are around considering the small land sizes. I would have loved to go double story to get a bit ,ore yard but didn't have the $$$, maybe next time hehe. Anyways here is apic of my slab http://imageshack.us/download/703/imageyss.jpg Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 34Jan 25, 2013 1:56 pm Jack_n_Jill Alli welcome, I love the new release u should be close to the park and some of the blocks up there are a decent size. U looking to build single or double story? I'm surprised at how few double stories there are around considering the small land sizes. Congratulations on the slab, Jack_n_Jill. I am going for a single storey house as I don't have kids and that is plenty for me Yes, I will be near the park, cant wait to see once its done. I am struggling to find a builder since there are so many nice homes out there. I guess it will come down to the bottom line (money) as in all home builds. Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 35Feb 03, 2013 5:53 pm Looks like we are all building single story. Jack and Jill I hope this rain isn't holding up your building too much Alli we looked at soooo many houses when we were trying to decide it got very confusing. But we picked one we liked and change a few things in it. I am sure you will find one you like too.
Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 36Feb 10, 2013 9:45 am Alli all the best with finding a builder. We got lucky and just found a package that we loved but had been looking for awhile. Blogger yay for starting I've been keeping an eye out,for any beechwood starts on Garton, mustn't be too far away now? As for us been quiet couple of weeks. One of the things I liked about nu era when we went with them was they still have full concrete slab included in the price (I'm not too keen on waffle pods just me though) so we have been waiting for th slab to properly cure before anything else could happen, but drainer did his thing on Thursday and plumber is back out early this week so hopefully framing is not too far off, and just paid our first progress payment too! Ouch! Hope everyone is going well! Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 37Feb 10, 2013 2:51 pm So we have our first appointment with Beechwood Head Office. Question, for those that are building with Beechwood. At your appointment is it only: Roof tiles Bricks Fascia Down pipes and window colours that we have to have ready?? Help would be appreciate Thanks! Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 38Feb 11, 2013 8:37 am Yes jack and Jill they have stated to excavate ready for peiring so officially underway! .
Re: ANYONE BUILDING AT EAST VILLAGE, SPRING FARM? 39Feb 15, 2013 5:07 am Hey guys update from me frames were delivered yesterday! Woohoo next stage starting! 3 weeks of curing has felt like its dragging! Hopefully they should be installed next week There r a couple of nu era going up at the moment but we are the single story with just the slab hehe They had the gates open to stages 3 & 4 the other day, wow I'm surprised how big the area is, so exciting to see more homes going up. Blogger- keep looking out for beechwood homes for your home! How exciting to be starting, you won't be far behind us! Ali - how is the search for a builder going have you short listed any yet?
