If so, would you please give me your concretor's contact? I am looking for someone to do our driveway and I do not want to try my luck (which I usually do not have).
Thanks a lot!

Sydney 2Aug 07, 2012 2:45 pm I'll be interested to gt some feedback on some companies that do a good job aswell Re: Are you happy with your concrete driveway? Sydney 3Aug 09, 2012 10:14 pm No one is happy with their driveways??? That's scary. Re: Are you happy with your concrete driveway? Sydney 4Aug 09, 2012 10:32 pm 594Jessica No one is happy with their driveways??? That's scary. I'm not sure you can interpret it like that. Many people when they're done with their house build, they're not that often here anymore. I saw your other thread, btw, perhaps you should give people the same info in this thread (powdery, wrong colour etc.)? Oh, and perhaps change the title to something like "New concrete driveway - advice needed". You have to entice people with the headline, lol. Good luck Re: Are you happy with your concrete driveway? Sydney 5Aug 10, 2012 10:21 pm Thanks Danois for your tips. I am trying my luck out there again... Re: Are you happy with your concrete driveway? Sydney 6Aug 11, 2012 1:55 pm yeah I have noticed that once people have built their house and move in, they don't hang around here much more Re: Are you happy with your concrete driveway? Sydney 7Aug 11, 2012 2:44 pm daveinthehills yeah I have noticed that once people have built their house and move in, they don't hang around here much more Probably because in a lot of new estates you get screwed over when it comes to getting yourself an internet connection... Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. Re: Are you happy with your concrete driveway? Sydney 8Aug 11, 2012 3:34 pm It depends on what you want as well, coloured concrete, stencilled, exp agg, pebblecrete etc We are very happy with our concreter, however he is not cheap. So far he has laid the base of our driveway and will come back in a couple of weeks to complete. We are having a pebblecrete driveway with tiled border(like attached photo) but it is $21000 (around $180/sqm). Re: Are you happy with your concrete driveway? Sydney 9Aug 11, 2012 5:39 pm I nearly chocked on my coffee Gogo Re: Are you happy with your concrete driveway? Sydney 11Aug 11, 2012 10:52 pm Come to think of it, why not go knock on doors? If you can find a driveway that is like yours in size and shape (somewhat) and perhaps in colour, you can ask them if that was the colour they wanted and if they're happy with it and if they'd recommend a company. Not all will respond, of course, but as a woman going asking and not coming across as a sales person, you might get some useful answers. If you do go door-knocking, have some small pieces of paper with your name, phone number and the word "driveway" on it, so you can give it to them if they can't remember who laid it, or don't have the time right then and there. You don't want the piece of papers to look "professional" as it will come across as a salesperson, in my opinion. Oh, and bring a pen and paper to write down their details and advice. To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 7424 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 9085 |
