Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 05, 2012 10:36 am Hi, Building our new home in Sth Eastern suburbs of melbourne. We decided to engage a builder to complete work its commenced in early Jan 2012. We completed lockup stage and now the builder has disappeared for over 3 months. We can't communicate with him via phone (disconnected), email, business address (no longer his) or home address (no longer his). We have raised a "domestic building complaint" with BACV but really slow. Our VMIA insurance lodgement was declined on the basis that the builder is not bankrupt. Has anyone else been in this scenario before and is there any other option. We are struggling financially to keep the mortgage afloat because of the delays. Any help will be appreciated.
