Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 03, 2012 3:34 pm Hi I'm new to this forum, so be nice! I'm building a home in the Bluestone Development in Mount Barker. The builders I've been dealing with have been great, and despite hold ups from encumbrance managers and council, have finally received council approval and we're ready to go. I just have a question to everyone out there about septic tanks. I need to install one; however, the quotes I've been getting have varied by as much as $3500, so I'm not sure what to believe. In other people's experience, roughly how much should a pre-cast 3000L concrete septic tank cost to install? (including purchase of the tank, digging of trenches, plumbers time etc). Re: Building in Mount Barker 2Aug 03, 2012 4:33 pm firstly check with your council/shire what their requirements are. in wa some will allow a conventional septic, others require an ATU system. we are going thru this atm. the company that was supposed to install has gone bankrupt [luckily we already had council approval thru] so looking at other companies. the prices we have range from $11000 - $15000. what Mt Barker state are you in - the wa or sa one?
