Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 31, 2012 9:57 pm we seem to have had a mishap, and our plumber has had to move kitchen sink pipes, and cut into our slab and tried to cover it up. I have been told that warranty can be voided, and have no idea why this was done and whats goig to happen. Can any one shed some light on the matter? Thanks Re: plumber error? Slab has been cut into? 2Aug 01, 2012 2:59 pm Can't answer your questions directly can only tell you what happened to us. Our slab was cut into (about 20cm x 20cm) as they forgot to put a 's' bend in for future shower (otherwise it was just a normal capped point). They then had to put granite guard (?spelling) into the area where the slab was removed, before putting concrete over the top and then sealing with a waterproof black substance. This ensured that termites and water couldn't penetrate. In your situation, It may depend on whether they had to cut all the way through your slab or just hollow out a section. Do you have any pictures? How far did they have to move the pipes? What did your site supervisor say?
