Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Gemmill Homes - New Build Inglewood 3Jul 28, 2012 7:34 pm You're casting a pretty broad net there Do a search for gemmill, they seem popular here. Perhaps let people know roughly where building , town or council etc Prestart is what Prestart does, spend 500, 5000, or 50,000 clams if you want, depends on the spec of home you contracted. Well, I am building on a rear strata block in Inglewood... It's early in the piece so i thought I would just put my feelers out to see what pre start experiences people have had. Re: Gemmill Homes - New Build Inglewood 5Jul 28, 2012 8:53 pm Sorry, I missed the Inglewood in title. I'm gonna guess Bayswater shire. All I can help with prestart is do lots of research. And remember if it was easy to build everyone would be doin' it. Prestart costs can vary greatly depending on what people choose to do so its a bit hard to comment on costings without specifics. Good luck with the build Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Gemmill Homes - New Build Inglewood 8Jul 29, 2012 11:45 am I'm building with Goodlife. Their stone benches are cheap so go all out. I wish I'd remembered to request a quote for stone in bathrooms. The doors and handles are reasonable upgrades and to upgrade cornices everywhere was about $1400. I'll double check that quote later today. Might have only been living areas. To get the "designer" square pavers which are 230x230 doesn't cost extra so make sure you ask for it. Check my blog to see what I upgraded. Pre start items I am looking at are: Upgrading bathroom vanities to stone. Silk finish cupboards to kitchen. Upgrading appliances to kitchen?? - see if budget allows! Undermount sink to kitchen. Upgrade taps/basins/toilet/tiling to bathrooms. Extra power/light points etc and a few other things which I am sure I have missed! Re: Gemmill Homes - New Build Inglewood 10Jul 29, 2012 12:29 pm Don't they offer the $2990 kitchen package? See if u can ask for it seeing as Goodlife offers it. It comes with 20mm absolute stone to kitchen benchtops, 900mm stainless steel oven stove and rangehood, double undermount sink with portable drainer, silk finish cupboard doors. Double GPO are $64 each, I remember light fittings were $40 or $50. Toilet upgrade was $250 for two. I am getting the upgraded Westinghouse appliances and granite benchtops 'thrown in' though. Re: Gemmill Homes - New Build Inglewood 14Jul 29, 2012 2:22 pm I can help with some of those costs.... jlil Upgrading bathroom vanities to stone. This would depend on the size of the vanities. We got stone throughout so I have a few different prices: Ensuite 2.7m x 0.52m $1,864 Bathroom 1.9m x 0.52m $1,240 Laundry 2.2m x 0.7m $1,425 Utility 1.3m x 0.6m $801 jlil Upgrading appliances to kitchen?? - see if budget allows! We stuck with the standard 900mm Westinghouse oven but upgraded to a Westinghouse slide out rangehood with cupboards above instead of the standard canopy rangehood - $598 (this includes the cupboards) jlil Undermount sink to kitchen I'm not personally a fan of undermount sinks but did upgrade to a Pete Evans 1.75 sink which I was told was more expensive than upgrading to an undermount - $1,444 jlil Upgrade taps/basins/toilet/tiling to bathrooms We did quite a lot of upgrades at the initial sales stage, one of which was upgrading to Stylus Cadet Pin mixers throughout which cost $557 in total (didn't get an itemised cost for each) and then at prestart changed to Caroma Quattro mixer taps: Kitchen mixer $47 Basin mixer $18 credit Bath mixer with wall spout $62 Quattro shower mixer with square shower head $99 Upgraded to Caroma Liano inset basins (square) $197 Upgraded to Stylus Venecia Close Coupled toilets instead of the linked toilets $95 each jlil Extra power/light points Hubby is a sparky so we added conduits with blank face plates instead of power points and swapped junction boxes for light points: Provide junction box in lieu of light points - no cost Provide 32mm conduit with blank face plate - $35 Provide 2 way light switch - $55 Hope that helps We love pics and plans on this forum..... would love to see your plans Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Gemmill Homes - New Build Inglewood 16Aug 06, 2012 11:54 am No worries Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Hi there!
