Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 25, 2012 6:13 pm (Posting here for more traffic) We are having PCI in 2 days and I havent ordered my blinds yet The windows have been measured up and I have an order ready to go, just havent committed yet. I would like white blinds because we have white/grey/charcoal colours in our house, but I'm worried about keeping them clean. Would love to hear others opinion about white blinds. Love them? Regret getting them? Also, because we have 4 sets of sliding doors and there arent too many options for covering them, we are looking at getting panel glide blinds on the 2 sliding doors in the main living areas (where privacy is not such an issue), and verticals on 2 other sliding doors where we need more privacy (but still want lots of light to get in). They would be in the same fabric on all 4 sliding doors. Are verticals ok? Are they daggy these days? Opinions please. Many thanks for your suggestions/feedback. I really need to order my blinds tomorrow! Re: White blinds, and verticals, yay or nay? 3Jul 25, 2012 9:07 pm I will tell you how they are in a few weeks time when mine are installed!!!! We are building in a new estate where there is plenty of road and building works creating constant dust and we have 2 small children. I haven't had white roller blinds before but have had cream ones and had no troubles. Most roller blinds and verticals are made of material that is easily wiped over with a damp cloth. We are having white blockout roller blinds on most windows and charcoal blockout roller blinds on a few. The white rollers will have charcoal sunscreens with them in bedrooms and bathroom where privacy is an issue. I personally don't like verticals and would try and avoid them. Have you considered doing sunscreen rollers with a blockout roller? Also, if you are worried about white, would you consider charcoal or grey rollers to match your colour scheme? Good luck with your decision. Re: White blinds, and verticals, yay or nay? 4Jul 25, 2012 9:10 pm Hi Novo, I had white blinds in the last build and they still looked good after 6 years. I also have them this time. I don't like verticals. Have you considered having a double blind where privacy is an issue? I am thinking of adding some sheers further down the track. Good luck for tomorrow. Re: White blinds, and verticals, yay or nay? 5Jul 25, 2012 9:15 pm rocketship I will tell you how they are in a few weeks time when mine are installed!!!!
