Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Lucas homes 21Aug 22, 2015 3:14 pm We haven't had any work done since 3rd August 2015 I've attempted again to email & call but no replies to date. How did you manage to get a meeting with them? I'm glad for you Jo-Anne84 that you have some kind of movement happening. We have frames & partly bricked walls - not completed. The brickies that did this work were very good. The roof trusses are up but not yet tiled. We signed our contract in July 2014. The slab was laid in Feb 15, Very big breaks between stages. Jo-Anne84 did you bring Fair Trading in to help resolve your problem or your solicitor? We're building in the Bankstown area Re: Lucas homes 22Aug 26, 2015 1:38 pm Hi Hills253, We just demanded a meeting. We also had a letter of demand. We signed contract with them in December 2013. I call them almost everyday. You could also just show up at the office and demand a meeting... We did not get our solicitor involved yet. We would like to be able to resolve this without taking it any further. It has already been a long journey, and we have put off having a family because of it all. I really hope things pick up for you. It can be frustrating, but need to try and stay calm and patient. (Easier said then done) Re: Lucas homes 24Aug 28, 2015 2:15 pm I sure hope not! They did advise me that the payments pay for the next stage of build, and that they are expanding their business, taking on more contracts.. therefore they have changed the amount of deposit taken from clients. Re: Lucas homes 25Sep 17, 2015 7:08 pm Hi Jo-Anne84 Was there any movement on your build after you had the meeting with LH? They supposed to pour the slab 2 weeks ago and it still hasnt been done. I left numerous messages to them to provide an update but still no response. Me and wifey are very worried and do not know where to go from here. Re: Lucas homes 26Sep 20, 2015 7:34 pm Hi fhb_08, Yes there has been some movement. We have visited the house everyday. So far I can say the work being done is quite good, but I guess we won't know until we move in exactly. They have just been working in tiling the floors. So much left to do.. Hope they get a move on with your home. Re: Lucas homes 30Nov 24, 2015 8:09 pm Jo-Anne84 hi, We are pretty close to completion. But the date keeps moving back. They said it would finish this week, now it's next week. We are now almost 20 weeks over the due date. Hope yours is faster. Lucky you! Just hang on your almost there! I do not think mine will go any faster. Worse thing is it will be delayed just like yours which is very frustrating. When does the actual building starts? Does it start from the day they started the excavation? Re: Lucas homes 32Nov 25, 2015 1:06 pm Jo-Anne84 it starts from the slab pour. Also read the contract carefully to check what the compensation is when they go over the due date. Or better yet, get a solicitor to check the contract over for you! Thanks. Well, slab was poured October 2015 so estimated building time is 20 weeks from that. Omg! We signed the contract Jan 2015! Are you referring to the liquidated damages? too late now as I did not put an amount because I was told that whatever amount I nominate will be paid to them instead IF they finish the building early. I am to blame for being gullible. Too late now to fret about it! Based from what I heard there is not much you can change on building contracts that are based on HIA contracts hence hiring a solicitor specialising on building contracts would not be much help. Re: Lucas homes 33Nov 25, 2015 4:26 pm yep! Is your home single storey? Because rout single storey took so far about 39 weeks, even though it was a 16 week build. We were also advised they are no longer doing shorter contracts, and that they were all 36 weeks now! So I am surprised it is 20 weeks. I really hope that your build goes well. You can contact me privately I think if you have any questions. Re: Lucas homes 34Nov 30, 2015 12:17 pm Jo-Anne84 yep! Is your home single storey? When we signed the contract it stated 20 weeks however, unforseen events would definitely extend this timeframe which is a bummer! Re: Lucas homes 36Feb 23, 2016 9:50 pm we finally moved in just before Christmas. We are still having problems with the landscaping and council. Still waiting on Lucas home to complete things on our list of incomplete or poorly finished workmanship. My husband is currently talking to other people on fb who are very unhappy. Re: Lucas homes 37Jul 11, 2016 10:59 am Hi Guys, My husband and I purchased a house and land package from Lucas Homes at Spring farm. Just had had a few issue with them returning my calls and so on. I have emails constantly. At This stage the land is due to register in September 2016. and now I am just worried as I have read really bad reviews and so on. We have already Paid 10% of the land and 8k towards the building contract. any advise of help would be great. Thanks Jackie Re: Lucas homes 38Jul 11, 2016 6:04 pm my suggestion would probably be get out if you can!!! I heard they are being taken to court by 3 different people. They've closed up shop, and moved premises... I would not risk it! They become impossible to get a hold of, and don't come to fix anything. Re: Lucas homes 39Jul 11, 2016 8:12 pm I'm going to call them tomorrow and I'll have a read of the contract! I just don't want to lose the land and even lose money that we have invested. We have been waiting 2 years for the land to register! I'm starting to get really worried Re: Lucas homes 40Jul 12, 2016 9:29 pm jchavez85 I'm going to call them tomorrow and I'll have a read of the contract!
