Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 24, 2012 3:22 pm My builder told me I need to construct the fence now as they will put some appliances in and it is not secure without fence, and they need it ASAP, so I can either contact all my neighbours(their building is not started yet, not even sure if the land is sold or not), then wait for their replies and payment, or I can pay first then claim the money from the neighbours, but someone told me it is not safe to do this because people sometimes refuse to pay. In Victoria, it is my understanding that if you do not serve a notice to fence on your neighbour, then you cannot recover the neighbour's share of the fence in the future.
