Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 61Oct 18, 2012 1:16 pm New issue arises ... attention especially for those who chose ORLEANS facade and you like the facade impression on Mainvue official website (as per my avatar) !!! Orleans facade does not have eave over the garage .. therefore can not have the three downlights above the garage door on the roof eave like the facade picture !!! More than two months since we did electrical appointment .. we only found out this issue now !!! (sign!!!) Now waiting for Argus to fix quote before contract document can be ready ... Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 62Oct 22, 2012 2:17 pm Relieved to finally have Contract Signed today !!! We're told that site could start early to mid November ... Lets wait and see ... Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 63Oct 31, 2012 5:27 pm Just realised another garden tap is needed to the back of the house for gardening purpose. Mainvue gave 2 (one at the front and one outside laundry). We got little credit for the existing tap at front .. i'm expecting the cost to reinstate should be the same as credit for existing tap. So overall should not cost us any extra $$ Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 64Nov 14, 2012 1:41 pm Hi TTVA, When Vic wide demolished your house, did they arrange the service (gas, elec, etc) abolishment for you or you have to do it by yourself? Another question. Did you upgarde your garage to double plus? I compared my double plus with the standard one and found it's only about 1m wider. The size on my plan is just 6720x6470. Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 65Nov 14, 2012 8:56 pm Hi Dana, Vic Wide can help fill in the forms for you and apply on your behalf but you'll have to pay associated fees and security bond for council asset protection. I had some damages to council asset from demolition and Vic Wide agreed to fix but still chasing them up now for confirmation whether they've done it as it already passed due date. Few days enquiry with no response yet. Good luck with your demolition! I find it's better for you to apply for abolishment of service and chase up directly to to gas and elec company. It was a waste of one month for me relying on Vic Wide to deal with the utilities company when application did not go through due to some error that the gas company claimed they called Vic Wide with no success. So Vic Wide was not aware until I followed up with them near the planned d-day. Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 66Nov 14, 2012 9:03 pm Btw, I did upgrade to garage plus size and that was about the same as on your plan. Mind you I didn't compare to standard size ... Now thinking about it ... 1m extra wide for so much $$$$. Not sure if it's worth it!!! Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 68Nov 15, 2012 12:23 pm Hi Dana, Yes, I paid the same. That's disappointing ! I suppose you have a valid reason to remove that option if you're not happy its worth since you're only at tender stage. My case was a bit different. Contract already signed:( Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 70Nov 16, 2012 9:49 am Hi Dana, I think 2.5m extension is the triple garage option. Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 71Nov 17, 2012 3:15 pm So frustrated with Vic Wide Demo ... due date from council passed and they haven't fixed up the damages. Promise after promise still going no where yet Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 72Nov 19, 2012 10:28 am [quote="ttva"]So frustrated with Vic Wide Demo ... due date from council passed and they haven't fixed up the damages. Promise after promise still going no where yet /quote] Hi TTVA, We are also looking at building the Emporio and are undecided about balcony or not. What Facade are you going with? Most of the options they have are with balcony. Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 73Nov 19, 2012 3:02 pm Hi Rangi, I'm building the Orleans facade, in which there is no balcony. Initially I wanted to have balcony but decided that too much maintenance for little use plus lots of additional cost for building it, so not anymore. Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 74Nov 23, 2012 12:50 pm Hi TTVA, Have you installed the underground electricity pit? If yes,how much? I got a quote from United Energy for more than $2700. The pit is within 10 metres from the pole. So expensive!!! Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 75Nov 24, 2012 9:17 am Hi Dana, I did install a single phase pit from UE as well and it did cost me about $3k. The year before was only around $1k Indeed it is so expensive now. Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 76Nov 24, 2012 9:39 am It's been a month now since contract signing. I'm expecting Mainvue to contact me regarding site start date next week. I hope that they do. Admin girl said we're on track but no date was given just approx end of Nov or early Dec. It is now that time .. will see if anything happens. Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 78Nov 25, 2012 10:31 am ttva Hi Rangi, I'm building the Orleans facade, in which there is no balcony. Hi TTVA, Thanks I am thinking now of not having a Balcony. The price is crazy. and i think we would use it for the first month and then be over it. But still a bit unsure. i am leaning more towards the Orleans facade too... Re: Building Emporio ER432 with MainVue 80Dec 08, 2012 9:09 pm It's exciting to see something happens on site this week.
