I've now made so many points for my build, that my builder can consider me now "armed and dangerous", hahahha.

We didnt really think hard enough about the positions of our taps, especially rain water taps, I need to drag the hose out under a fence to get water to the front yeard (to wash cars etc.) VERY annoying!

Lol bonnie you can just subscribe and will get all the updates.

Also don't forget to get a copy of where they lay your water pipe so you don't hit it while landscaping.
Also the electricity trench should be in your meter box.

We had our ground floor ceiling raised, but didn't get the height of our alfresco stacker doors increased also. Apparently the standard height of stacker doors to outdoor areas is the same height as your internal doors. Not adjusting the height of the stacker doors has limited the 'open' feeling we were hoping to achieve.

Yes good point. I increased mine to 2400 in line with our 2700 ceilings.

Some of you may be surprised at this thing we 'forgot'...well we didn't really forget because we didn't know it could not be done....

We have a skillion roof design with raking ceiling in the theatre room....no air cond vent can fit in the roof space, so it looks like we are up for the cost of an separate split unit a/c in that room... :::

Hootie , how about building a flat ceiling in that room and getting the aircon duct in there?

Or hootie they can put a vent in the wall? I presume two sides are vertical (like triangles) and the other two are raked? So the could vent in the ceiling adjacent to the room and enter the room via the wall above the ceiling in the adjacent room (hope that makes sense)

Thanks for the suggestions Stewie D and cat_dunc...the raked ceilings extends past the theatre into the main entrance and putting a flat ceiling in the theatre is unfortunately not an option because we want the raked ceilings there.

Did think about wall vents, but because of the design of the house, the theatre is in the front of the house next to the entrance and a courtyard behind the theatre, so no roof structure is available behind the skillion...

Split system might be the only option but I am researching to see if there are any other solutions....

We built our fence in front of the external water tap, so now every time we need to use the tap at the front of the house (the wash the cars etc.) we nee to run a hose all the way through and open the gate etc. it is very annoying. And it was such a stupid oversight!!

missmae - I had this point at the back of my mind at prestart yesterday! Made sure we placed the tap in the correct position! ::wink::

that shut the hot water off after preset time
instantaneous hot water is great
until your teenagers start taking 1 hour showers

So these timers... They sound like a great idea to kick my wife out of the shower. I don't know why people need to be under the water for 10 mins.
