Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 23, 2012 9:43 am Can't find much on the forum about Ultimate homes (Perth) - does anyone have any opinions on them? I know they are the lower range of Peter Stannard homes but they do 2 storeys. Looking at the Beechwood and wondering whether to ditch our current single storey plans Any reviews / thoughts / opinions gratefully received!! Re: Ultimate Homes - anyone built with them? 4Jul 23, 2012 3:07 pm My only experience with Ultimate Homes was visiting one of their display homes and coming across the rudest salesperson ever. We asked a very simple question and he was so rude my wife and I looked at each other turned and walked out. The house was quite nice but he killed any chance of us having a serious look. Cant even remember what the question was. hope their construction staff are better than their sales staff. Same staff etc. We were originally planning to build an Ultimate Home as the design suited our block. We upgraded some of the specs to that of a Peter Stannard Home. However, after going through all that we ened up choosing a PSH design. We found this more cost effective as fewer upgrades were required due to higher level of inclusions. We are currently in contrsuction phase and our experience so far has been very good. Hope this helps a bit Re: Ultimate Homes - anyone built with them? 6Jul 24, 2012 2:48 pm 1Peter1 Hi Timpen, Ultimate Homes are part of Peter Stannard Homes. Yes, it helps to understand the parent company structure and whether they use the same staff on each site. Re: Ultimate Homes - anyone built with them? 7Oct 29, 2012 2:07 pm Several years ago we signed up with Ultimate Homes, we had numerous problems through the planning stages and ended up pulling out of the contract primarily as we had no faith that they were capable of building the home to the standard we expected. A few of the changes we had made and they had agreed to, they later said they couldn't do and then it came out that they costed them wrong so were trying to get around building it the way the contract was by saying that it would be structurally unsound. They also tried to get us to do retaining to the sides of out block that was totally unnecessary if they just put the house correctly on the block rather than building up the house. As mentioned we ended up pulling out of the contract, we didn't want to be in this kind of a fight for the next 12 months as we know of at least one other person did, it was however an expensive mistake, pulling out of the contract and having to lose our deposit and pay other so called "associated costs" to them. I wouldn't recommend them, however if you are going to go with them the legal advice we received said do not sign anything if you are not 100% happy and if they say they will change something after you have signed, don't sign until they make the changes you want first. wondering anyone built with omaxe homes and care to share their experiences. thanks 0 13777 Hi we are looking to talk to people who have built with them recently.
