Browse Forums Building A New House Re: is building tiring? should we just buy? 11Mar 20, 2008 12:04 pm We had a really good build with MEtriic0n. Apart from the contracts part, we had no major issues, Build time was very good and we got exactly what we wanted. Quality has been very good.
We dealt wth a sales consultant who told us not to buy with them at the time due to our finances, as we didnt have much of a deposit. The honesty he gave us was explained to show us why we should save a little more money, which we did. This meant we got a bigger house in a better location and we are paying a lesser interest rate that we would have if we proceeded earlier with 100% finance. We have gone from one side of Melbourne to another. This way we could afford what we wanted closer to the CBD than if we were to stay on the other side. Now, we dont pay tolls to get to work any more and whilst the back garden is still under construction, we are happy with everything. All up building where we have has saved us $$$. If we moved further out the other side of Melbourne, it would also cost me 10-12 hours a week in commuting. Petrol and tolls are one thing, but its also a matter of family time. We had a look at existing houses on both sides and could not get a suitable design of good quality in an existing house. I would definatly consider building again. Adrian B I've decided, after a period of confusion (my building broker told me it's probably not worth it to use a lawyer, but others have said it is a must) that I definitely will… 7 27951 Looking at some of the designs on websites, they are all selling very similar products. I get that you want something stylish. It's worth looking for search terms like SaveH2O… 2 7006 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16001 |
