Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 01, 2010 2:19 pm Welcome to Mrsroc's Place
I'm finally starting my own thread, so welcome. So much to say not sure where to start. Hubby and I are in our mid 40's with two lovely girls 13 & 10. Currently living in Mt Barker. We decided it was time to size down so we started looking at selling and buying established. I decided to look at the option of building again and this turned out to be the way we went. So we started looking in May '10, thought we had found the right house and the right builder, but this wasn't to be the case. This story is to long and I am completely over it now. We have a great peice of land in The Summit - Mt Barker. We are building our own plans with World Concept Homes. We have just received our revised plans, just a few little mistakes (by the drafts people) all fixed now. Now I have pdf's of my plans but have not idea how to get these on here for you all to have a look at. Cause if you are anything like me you love to look at plan's and photos. I must say have have become addicted to this site. I hope I have done this right. Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 2Oct 01, 2010 2:30 pm Welcome Congrats on the purchase of your land and finding a builder Regarding your images, I use photobucket. You can create an account and upload the photos. Once the photos are uploaded, copy the IMG code and past it on to your reply and the image should show up We all love piccies Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 3Oct 01, 2010 2:48 pm Welcome & yes this site sure is addictive. I spend most of my spare time on here! I agree with Jessie, use photobucket. It's simple to use and stores all your photo's too! I would have thought with two girls you'd want more room lol Look forward to seeing your plans and the building process. Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 17Oct 06, 2010 9:02 pm Lucene Well done Great plans, you'll have a great view from Alfresco, noticed colorbond roof, what colour are you having and do you know how long before you start? Good Luck with everything I will be following your adventure closely We have some rough ideas on colours, but nothing set yet. Have to make appointments for our selections, will wait till next week when the girls go back to school. Don't have any idea when it will start, I guess everything gets sent to council for approval now. Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 18Oct 06, 2010 9:07 pm Theresa Love your plan The garage is a great size. Plenty of storage. Looks like you have nice views from your block. Thanks, the garage was the Hubby's idea so that we don't have to stick an ugly looking shed on the side. We needed somewhere to put the campertrailer and various other bits and pieces. I'm really happy with the plans. This is our 3'rd build and I'm hoping our last. The views are nice and the blocks below us are all single story, so we have been told by Devine. Let's hope that is so. The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 19Oct 07, 2010 6:36 am Love the house plan. Lots of space for everyone. The front elevation looks great. I like the garage idea, we could have if we have enough room. 3rd build... Geeez, we are on our second but won't go any more. Too much head work. Good luck with your colour selections when you get around to it! Re: The Rocks Place - The Summit - Mt Barker SA 20Oct 07, 2010 8:20 am Love your land, the views are great. Very nice floor plan. Good luck with your colour selections. I hope you don't have to wait too much longer before you get council approval, and they start. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil.
