That is a great view you have got. Did they build the pod on site? In the first photo it doesn't look like they have any walls up for it. Apparently they can't transport with tiles so the whole thing was constructed there and then As our pod is just one theatre room (as the theatre was replaced downstairs by a 3rd card garage!) it suppose it was quite simple for them to do on site as well. Main structure - http://s18.photobucket.com/user/alyce12 ... sort=3&o=0 http://s18.photobucket.com/user/alyce12 ... sort=3&o=1 Roofing - http://s18.photobucket.com/user/alyce12 ... sort=3&o=2 Then the walls and acrylic coat went on as per the first photos! look awesome alice! not long now. Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 86Sep 27, 2013 3:15 pm Thank you We have been really happy with the quality of work performed by 101 so far, and the people we are dealing with. Maybe we have just got lucky, because our site supervisor and CLO are both great! Please keep us updated on your build to! It is great to be able to learn from each other. Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 87Sep 27, 2013 4:04 pm Good stuff - makes sense about the transporting with tiles. Maybe we should have gone with tiles to avoid clipping the trees down our street when they transported it Did you have some plans you were willing to share too? Demo + Build in Rivervale, Western Australia Moved in June 2014 http://rivervale.tumblr.com/ Building Thread Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 88Sep 27, 2013 4:14 pm It does make sense, although makes your build time a little longer!
Just because they can't be building your pod offsite at the same time as the brickwork is being completed. Luckily our pod is so simple that it doesn't make a huge difference to the time - and we aren't under any time pressure Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 89Sep 27, 2013 4:27 pm Very nice, I think you may have mentioned previously that you were doing the Frappe as well - although it looks like you have mostly as displayed rather than our somewhat customised version Nice store conversion too, especially since you have the upstairs theatre. I feel a bit like I should have created more space in the garage for storage then we have - although at least we have a backyard big enough for a shed which is what drove some of our design changes. To be honest the display layout just seemed to really suit us! The third garage was a requirement from my 'better' half haha! It will second as a shed/store as we are building in a new development and land size these days is not large This is a first house for my partner and I so we don't need too much space haha! Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 91Sep 27, 2013 4:51 pm Still a decent size for a first house. Our first too - the intent is that we won't be needing to build again until we need to downsize in the future Demo + Build in Rivervale, Western Australia Moved in June 2014 http://rivervale.tumblr.com/ Building Thread Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 92Sep 30, 2013 2:26 pm It is funny how confusing the emotions can be as you hit another progress milestone - excitement as you get closer to having your house completed combined with watching your mortgage grow continually larger. Our pod got its roof on Friday - and provided us cover while visiting the block yesterday as Perth weather continued to be all over the shop. We were a bit uncertain a few weeks ago when we looked at our colours again, thinking maybe Dune was going to be a bit dark but it looks great so fairly happy with it. Wish I made my pantry cavity slider but didn't think of it at time of signing up We have them leading into our pantry/fridge area which flows onto the laundry - but the design also included pantry doors. I'm actually thinking the doors are going to drive us bonkers so will probably look at removing them once we move in (though leaving them in the plans for now).
