Also, having spent a bit of time there the last few days - for anyone I've given advice to: CHECK THE LOCATION OF YOUR LIGHT SWITCHES. If you have a big open plan area, have all the lights work from a single location - add second switches if necessary. If you have multiple entries into rooms, either have multiple light switches or make sure the switch is located where you are going to come in the most frequently. If you have long halls, make sure lights are located wherever you will be entering the hall in the first place. I wouldn't say that we have made a "mistake" with our light switches but we certainly could have done a lot better with our plan and specifying their locations. Just didn't think about it ![]() Demo + Build in Rivervale, Western Australia Moved in June 2014 http://rivervale.tumblr.com/ Building Thread Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 371Apr 27, 2014 1:10 am What can I say... Wow, It looks great and cannot wait to see more. I am wondering for your skirting how much it is costing per linear meter. I have a quote of about 3.2k for the entire house, excluding robes and theater. Not sure how many meters it is but will have ask to cross check what sort of price they are charging. If not too bad I will probably get the builder to doit. Those tiles look fab I bet you are really pleased with your choice. Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 372Apr 27, 2014 9:35 am Looking really good. I love it when I see my name pop up using an idea hehehe Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 374May 13, 2014 12:46 am Wow! Colours are: Roof: Colourbond Dune Gutters/fascia: Colourbond Woodland Grey Main Profile: Dulux Bogart Feature walls (portico): Colourbond Dune And after all that, we are finally at handover. Getting our keys tomorrow which is pretty exciting, unlucky for us this does not translate to moving in. I got a call from Trevors Carpets two weeks ago that basically went like this: Carpet guy: "Sorry about this, but there has been a trail derailment... usually when this happens, our stock is fine but unfortunately your carpets have been damaged so we will have to order a new set." Me: "...sorry... when you say "usually..."... how often do your trains derail?" Carpet guy: "You'd be surprised..." So we get our keys tomorrow but still a week or two away from carpets and then window treatments and then finally we will be able to move in... I thought I was the only one who had conversations like that! Train derailments are so common that they don't make it onto the news any more. Congratulations on handover and commiserations on the carpets. At least the end is well and truly in sight. Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 379May 20, 2014 12:33 am Woohoo - so we picked up the keys today and headed over for dinner at the house. And in a double-win the carpet has been booked in for next week so we might be moving in over the long weekend ![]() Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Just need to figure out what to do with all these: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Demo + Build in Rivervale, Western Australia Moved in June 2014 http://rivervale.tumblr.com/ Building Thread Re: 101 Residential in Rivervale 380May 20, 2014 1:39 am congratulations!!!! the tile looks amazing!!!!!!!!!! love the look of floor boards looking tiles!! mind to share where did you buy the tiles from? we are still stuck on the outer structural part of the house, waiting to have the bottom floor's roof to be put on. but we just had our site supervisor changed, which is a blessing for sure! how's the moving going? show us some pics! You can also consider longer/wider footings for your deck, so you don't even bother with soil capacity calculations. 9 9634 |
