Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 09, 2012 10:38 am Hi all, We are in the progress of demolishing and went through council's asset protection process. We found out yesterday that 2 slabs of the conrete on the footpath has been cracked by the demolishing truck. Council mentioned they will charge $500 per slab. Are we able to get a concreter to fix it up ourselves or do we have to go through the coucil. It seems rather expensive. Cheers Re: Help needed footpath cracked 2Jul 09, 2012 7:39 pm No, you can definetly fix it yourself and it is a reasonably simple job to DIY @builderforlife Building inspector and passionate about construction When you need an expert to take a look. Re: Help needed footpath cracked 4Jul 10, 2012 12:10 am depending on your council they may want to fix it asap or ask you to fix it asap as there is a liability if it is cracked and someone trips on the crack there could be a law suit. I would make sure whatever you do you ensure that the council are aware of it and the time frame you want to do it in. Re: Help needed footpath cracked 5Jul 10, 2012 9:50 am I thhink we need to fix it before the building start as Henley will apply for another asset protection. Its cracked quite badly so not sure if we can DIY as I am unexperienced but we may be able to get away with it with a cheap concreter. Fingers Crossed Thanks for all the response guys.
