We are also thinking of using perth timber floors. Would you recommend them? My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Re: Commodore Homes, Whiteman Edge: Retaining Wall 823Aug 30, 2013 12:52 am Excellent! Im hoping to have a stickybeak at a job they are finishing tomorrow. I hope i love it as im so tired of shopping around for floors. Its such a big cost and you really dont want to get it wrong! Thanks:) My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Re: Commodore Homes, Whiteman Edge: Retaining Wall 824Sep 01, 2013 7:12 pm The guy that laid my floors been doing it for over 20 years with the same company. His work was flawless. I am also a tradesman, so spotting flaws is very noticeable for me. Re: Re: Commodore Homes, Whiteman Edge: Retaining Wall 825Jan 04, 2014 12:21 pm It's been a Brutal few months, the back yard remained dormant until then, Sunken retaining wall 6 metres wide by 3.5, 1 metre deep (for swim spa), all garden beds retained with bullnose capping. An outdoor/kitchen bar being built off the retaining wall. Got Airroofing coming out today to draw up a roof structure for this structure. Installed my retic last week. It's all coming together. Costing an Arm and leg but it's going to look a million dollars. Photos to follow. Re: Re: Commodore Homes, Whiteman Edge: Retaining Wall 826Jan 04, 2014 12:27 pm Oh the cost just slowly sneak higher haha. Looking forward to some photos Re: Re: Commodore Homes, Whiteman Edge: Retaining Wall 829Jan 04, 2014 8:02 pm That looks like a lot of hard work!! Do you know what the councul rules are for constructing brick walls near fences etc? We want to put some in to provide some privacy but can't find the info Re: Re: Commodore Homes, Whiteman Edge: Retaining Wall 830Jan 04, 2014 8:25 pm You can put a wall up to 1.8 metres but once you put a roof on it, it becomes a structure and you need council approval. The high wall is going to be my roof structure So I have made that in 1 metre from the boundary. So I avoid breaking council rules. I used Ian from Rellim Bricking he did that structure for $1750 including materials minus bricks. If you want his number pm me. He also knows a draftsman that use to work for the council so if you want or need anything that may need council approval they can get it done quick and easy.
