Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 81Jan 20, 2013 6:27 am great color selections echo hope the application goes through soon waiting is the hardest ( i cant wait till my brickies start) i am also impatient Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 83Jan 24, 2013 10:21 pm Kind of getting annoyed with my builder at the moment. I emailed them last monday the 14th asking what stage i'm up to. Got a reply back fairly quick saying that they've just got back into the office and he'll see where it is and get back to me. Anyway so come the 22nd I still had no reply to I sent an email off that night and got a response back at 6am the next morning saying he is trying to sort it out for me and will get back to me that day... And nothing still! It looks to me as though they havn't done what they should have with my progress and are trying to stall letting me know. I was hoping to try and communicate with just emails so I had proof of whats being said, and I have a bad memory so I like to re-read stuff lol. So i'll be calling them tomorrow instead. As far as i'm aware it should have been headed to council and the developer fot approval. It deffiently has made it to council yet according to thei website, it could possibly be at the developer though. Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 84Jan 25, 2013 1:58 pm So I emailed again this morning, getting impatient lol. Got a reply back within 10 minutes and apparently they are having problems getting approved through the developer Apparently there is a list of things but they've cut it down to raising the roof height to the front of the building. Having full render instead of half render. And have requested a couple of other colours on my front... Grr! My builder said they are pushing for the developer to cover the costs because these weren't in the orignal paperwork but they are trying to enforce it. So far they said they have cut it down from $7000 to $3000. Hmm bit annoying! Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 85Jan 25, 2013 8:59 pm What a bummer Echo! All the stuffing around is so frustrating isn't it. You would think that things would be MUCH more simpler seeing as these builders/developers/councils do this for a living every day. I hope it all gets sorted our ASAP and at minimal cost to you. Atleast I know whats going on now though and once they've sorted it out it's off to council! Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 89Feb 01, 2013 11:08 am Emailed my builder again yesterday asking how it's turning out. Apparently everything is all go now, they are waiting on a variation for me to sign and then are re submitting! Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 90Feb 01, 2013 3:21 pm Variation signed and sent back this morning. Hopefully LWP should be satisfied with the changes. I've had to raise the ceiling to 31c in bedroom 2, bathroom and porch. Have had to change from half render to full render at the front of the house. Have also had to change the render colour I chose to 3 different colours! I told the builder just choose whatever was closest, just to speed things up, because honestly this is my first house, not my dream house. I can live with whatever they choose. So back to LWP my plans go! Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 91Feb 01, 2013 9:38 pm Been following from a distance namesake. Ohwell! I can't afford to raise the whole house anyway and it may help to make the bathroom and bed2 appear to be bigger I guess.... Off for another drive by my estate after dog training at lunch time today. Always do a little de-tour past once a fortnight while nothings happening. Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 93Feb 03, 2013 8:00 am Had a quick look on the Taubmans website to see what colours the builder chose to pass LWP's guidelines... They are: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bedroom1 and porch will be Grey Cast Feature pier will be November Leaf Bedroom2 will be Smokehaze Actually don't think the builders did that bad a job choosing the colours. With limited funds it kinda sucks having to build in an estate, but then again choosing colours can be a little over whelming so I don't mind to much! Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 94Feb 03, 2013 9:22 am I think they chose nicely if you were after some brown tones Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 95Feb 03, 2013 9:48 am Actually I was aiming for more greys lol! But in all honestly if it speeds up the process with going with those colours i'm not going to complain! And besides, my garage is at the rear, so how often am I going to see those colours hehe Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 96Feb 03, 2013 9:59 am You could always ask for greys. I'm sure they have a grey colour scheme they use Re: First time building - Ellenbrook - updated floor plan 98Feb 03, 2013 7:42 pm Aren't those colours greys??? lol - they are nice colours they chose!! We built with wow also, most of our issues and delays were during the "paperwork" phase... Once they got started it was so quick. Our slab was poured late September n we doing PCI on Tuesday! There have only been a few minor issues along the way and most of them were dealt with quickly and easily. Hope your experience with them is as good as ours has been so far Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not?
