Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 07, 2012 1:00 pm We are considering the external colours for our house at the moment. We love woodland grey colourbond for the roof, and want a dark coloured garage door, with a brown feature pillar and the rest of the render to be a cream/light colour. Just wondering if there's anyone that can share photos of their houses with similar colouring to what we want. We can only seem to find similar colours but with a light garage. We have a Woodlands Grey colourbond roof, dark moroka (Swampy) and a dark timber look garage door (Bush Cherry Decorwood). Our aim with the external colours was to go darker so that less visual bulk (lighter colours make a house look larger) and to blend with our bushy suburb. Not many people do these kinds on combination (and I agonised over ours as it was taking a bit of a risk) which is why your thread topic caught my eye. We are very happy now. But we have a light garage door. I think it would still look good with a woodland grey garage door or a cedar doir so long as you matched the entrance door. Would upload pic but on phone. cant work out how to put pic up fron phone. Can you put up your frontage so we have ab idea of what it looks like? Helpful comment you made there. That's what we are in favour of ATM. Going to visit tomorrow and see what it's like in real life. Kind of leaning towards a lighter door now, but not sure. Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. I would do woodland grey garage door, then pick your render colour...more white or crwam? I do more grey/white...i think it makes the dark grey pop more! We have woodland grey roof, with Dulux Grey Pebble as the render colour: http://m.dulux.com.au/trade/colour/p/P1 ... rey-pebble It actually looks lighter on our house than that. We're very happy with it. I can post a pic if you like.
