Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 18, 2008 7:07 pm Hi all
Can anyone suggest if I have a mortar issue or not. This brick wall was layed last week. It is suppose to be off white mortar but it looks diffrent on the top. The top was laid a day after the bottom but with the hot weather I cant see that it is still drying out. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii125/stevecphotos/IMG_0003_edited.jpg Re: Mortar colour issue 2Mar 18, 2008 7:16 pm Looks different to me. I'd be talking to the supervisor pretty quick. Re: Mortar colour issue 4Mar 19, 2008 8:17 am Clearly different, unless you are having it bagged/rendered I would be following it up! Re: Mortar colour issue 5Mar 19, 2008 8:24 am they look different. But if you look at the thin edge of the mortar at the top, you can see that their colour are quite similar with the mortar at the bottom. Talk to the supervisor is the best option, just raised the concern. by email is preferable as if something is really wrong at the end you have back up. Re: Mortar colour issue 6Mar 19, 2008 8:31 am I think send the email anyway, but I htink it might be ok. As oznow says, where the mortar is thin on the edges of the new section it looks the right colour. I think it might be not dry yet. Re: Mortar colour issue 7Mar 19, 2008 9:31 am I agree....
Wet mortar is the culprit here! Leave it for another week and you will be pleasantly suprised Hi, I am planning to select San Selmo reclaimed original for the fascade of my build.
