Is NBN rolling out its fibre optic in your estate or did you take the NBN fibre optic pack from Henley?
Hmm, Henley electrical package has included 3 TV points. I take NBN bronze pack which includes 2 telephone pts and 2 TV points. I'm wondering whether I'll have 5 TV points in the house or 3 TV points with 2 of the 3 points being connected to the fibre optic. (would be great if you know) thanks.
mtz.. We have NBN fibre optic however at the moment its only active for data and voice, no TV service is attached to it.. we were not on a specific electrical package with henley, we've done quite a lot of electrical upgrades we couldnt pick a package.. Hope this helps.
Glad to hear your settling in! How exciting!!!
Do you mind my asking what your experience was like with H3nley?
I'm going to be building in Plumpton and would like to find someone who isn't going to pull sneakies!
My experience with Henley has been varied pre-site was painful but they had reasons, it was at the end of the financial year when the FHBG Boost was being scrapped so everyone (including us) were doing contracts and drawings before end of june so that process took a long time specially since they kept making mistakes (which is likely to happen with any builder) and having to go back and forth..
During the build they were excellent but i think its mainly because we had a great supervisor (except for putting in the wrong wall and ceiling batts which is a big mistake) he was excellent and regardless of the builder i think your experience during the build will depend on your supervisor...
Just wondering. Do you have a stepdown to garage in your house? We had our tender last week (monaco q1) and the tender presenter said henley houses do not have a stepdown to garage anymore. The garage will be same level as the rest of the house. I think this mean they reduce the height of the whole house to match the garage level, hence less concrete used?
Not sure what are the pro and cons of stepdown to garage? Maybe anyone can shed some light?
Thanks!
Now the stepdown issue... I'm sorry i didnt respond before your tenders.. we definitely have a step down from the laundry to the garage and all portico and alfresco were a high 172mm step down to the slab.. We are on a sloping up block so the house is raised to the street and with the extra steps the house is even higher.. the next door neighbour is building with a different builder and they dont have step downs and their blocks are exactly the same as ours so i dont know if the sloping has anything to do with it..
but I also dont know if builders take the estate guidelines seriously or how they are enforced or decided because our estate has a requirement for front eaves for example yet i see many houses (in my street even) built with large volume builder that dont have eaves at all..
Back to the step down... at first I wasnt happy with the stepdown because it meant we had to do more concreting or decking to cover the stepdown area otherwise it was too high (for portico and alfresco) but now that i think about it im so glad we have it...
Did you upgrade the infill above windows to brick infill?
I notice the drawing in your earlier post says "Timber trim infill above timber window", but when I check your pictures, you have brickwork above the windows.
thanks.
And finally... No we didnt upgrade the to have a brick infill, I didnt even notice that comment on the drawings until now..and it seems to only be on the big timber windows.... but from memory those window had quite large timber (what looked like Lintels) so maybe thats what this is.. I have no idea.. but its definitely bricked all the way round and it wasnt an upgrade.. so not sure..
Oh how exciting... hopefully it will be a quick build with good weather..
Sorry i know i promised new photos but I keep forgetting.. soon hopefully...
