Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 30, 2012 5:15 pm Hi there, DH and myself went out to view the Lakesview release at The Ponds today and quite liked it. As we are not from around this area (from Glenmore Park) we aren't too familiar with the area at all but the location seems good at first glance. Can any locals please confirm will this be a good location and can you see this being a good area? We are in our 40's and have an 18 year old son who will be living with us (so playgrounds, schools etc aren't important) however he does need access to either the T-Way or a station to make his way into the city for uni four days a week. I noticed the t-way and also Rouse Hill shopping centre are very close at the junction to of Schofields and Windsor Roads which looks good for our needs and is just around the corner. Also Schofields station is close too. Not sure what this station is like or the frequency of trains so opinions would be grateful on this also. DH works at Smithfield and we would like to know what driving there would be like too....he works week about day and afternoon shifts. Guess we need to decide asap to pay a deposit on this block so any suggestions or opinions would be fabulous. Thanks in advance, Annette Re: Opinions on Lakesview release THE PONDS please. 2Aug 13, 2012 4:55 pm The Ponds is a nice area, as you said its close to everything transport, resturants and shops. Keep in mind if you have kids at school to check catchment areas first as alot of the ponds is not covered by John Palmer. You might also have a problem with high schools as they are yet to build one for The Ponds area. I would much prefer The Ponds to Glenmore park but thats my opinion. Re: Opinions on Lakesview release THE PONDS please. 3Aug 13, 2012 5:46 pm The Ponds is a great area and as you worked out, very central to everything. The T-Way is great and is easily accesssable. Schofield and Quakers Hill stations are both near by and the frequencey of trains is pretty good as they just upgraded both stations. The new NW railway will bring in another station nearby in the future which will also be handy. Getting to smithfield during peak hours may be a little bit of a challenge, but should be fine if you go via Eastern Creek and miss all the traffic =] I too have recently bought in the ponds, looking forward to moving in Hope this helps _________________ Building with EBH - Saville 30 @ The Ponds Building Blog - http://rabsndee.blogspot.com 22/08 - Slab Done 07/09 - Frames 16/09 - Roof 02/10 - Bricks 26/10 - Lockup 17/01 - Settlement Hi We have finally decided to complete a KDR on our corner plot in NE Melbourne suburbs.
