Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Plucka's Build- Final Stage 121Feb 14, 2013 6:05 pm Wow Plucka - it's really looking like a home now I love the gloss sliding doors. They almost look glass-like. I've never seen those before. Agree they look great, I think it was about $300 upgrade to do those 4 doors over the standard doors. Main bedroom is mirror doors and other 3 bedrooms just the standard vinyl. Not a lot action today, only final plumbing so water tank plumbed in and gully traps etc. Driveway paving tomorrow. Final painting I think is Monday, splashback probably Tuesday which should be the last thing. Not sure if the splashback will delay the final inspection a day or two as it was due Monday. Pretty sure handover will be week after next though. Re: Plucka's Build- Final Stage 124Feb 16, 2013 7:16 am Paving was mostly done yesterday, electrician was fixing last few things too. Splashback wont be ready until Tuesday or Wednesday so this will delay final inspection a day or two as well. Final Painting on Monday. Hopefully have final certificate by end of next week and handover the week after. Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57639 Re: Plucka's Build- Final Stage 126Feb 19, 2013 10:18 am Well the inspector visited yesterday and failed because the splashback was not yet installed and concern of drainage down one side of the house. Builder will be adding a small sandstone block retaining wall to redirect water/change slope to fix this issue, as soon as this bloody rain stops. Splashback in on Thursday. Final Painting today and driveway paving still needs to be finished off. Hoping all this will be complete by end of week and pass inspection. Handover I'd say end next week. Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57639 Re: Plucka's Build- Final Stage 127Feb 19, 2013 10:35 am Well at least these items have been identified and that the builder will fix promptly for handover next week. Good luck! We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Invisiguard security screens fitted to the front windows, standard diamond mesh to the rest. Painters now finished, stair lights patched, cleaners in there today. Just leaves the retaining wall and kitchen splashback to go really. Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57639 Re: Plucka's Build- Final Stage 129Feb 19, 2013 6:47 pm Wow!!! The house looks so lovely, you must be over the moon about it. Nothing like great street appeal, you certainly have that! Your colours work really well together too. You've done a great job with your selections. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57639 Re: Plucka's Build- Final Stage 131Feb 19, 2013 7:04 pm Congratulations! You must be so excited that the dream is finally here now! Did you find you had many issues with things not fully up to the standard you were expecting for the finished product? Do you have a final inspection check list or anything right before handover? I did a defect list last week which really only found mainly minor cosmetic things most of which have already been fixed. I'll do another walk through again probably this weekend just to check final paint etc but don't expect to find much wrong.
